A visibly-rattled Rakhi Sawant drew India's first reality groom-hunt show to a predictable conclusion on Sunday. Devoid of any voyeuristic action, the scandal-prone Sawant demurely chose the suave Tornoto-based businessman Elesh Parunjanwala with uncharacteristic restraint. Barring a guttural declaration of how Rakhi rocks, the 28-year-old starlet went about her televised engagement with a fair serve of jitters.
"I have been watching Elesh from day one. On and off the camera, he has been the same and has really taken care of me. He is everything I was looking for and I am glad to have found him on the Swayamvar. Swayamvar means finding a jeevan saathi (life partner) and I have found Elesh," said Sawant.
But the betrothed couple has decided to adopt the wait and see policy when setting their wedding date.
"If we wish, we can get married right away. But we have decided to wait because we need some time to get to one another away from the camera," explained Sawant after garlanding the love-struck winner.
Bedecked in a heavily-embellished lehenga designed by celebrated designer Neeta Lulla and dipped in uncut diamonds, Sawant promised to be back on NDTV Imagine television channel on her wedding day.
"It's not over. We will be back soon."
