A sexually charged theme, a sly seductress who uses expletives at the drop of a hat. Reason enough for the Scissorhands Community, the Censor Board to snip away at the hard-hitting flick 'Ishqiya'. But director Abhishek Chaubey was in for an unimaginable surprise. The Censor Board passed 'Ishqiya' without any cuts whatsoever! And awarded it an 'Adults' only certificate.
An exulted Chaubey told the scribe tribe, "I had gone prepared with an explanation for every graphic word and shot. To my surprise I wasn't asked any questions. It's a sign of how far censorship has come in our country."
A singular triumph for Vidya Balan too as she traverses from sympathy ('Paa') to sensuality ('Ishqiya').
Her bold performance in 'Ishqiya' has already earned a huge round of appreciation for Balan. "Men may be physically stronger, but women are stronger emotionally."
Women empowerment, anyone?
