Volvo has announced that they’ll be debuting a touchscreen-based entertainment system in their cars as well. But it might not receive as much criticism regarding safety given that the screens will be for passengers in the backseat.
The RSEi-500 entertainment system was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, and it should have enough features to keep kids or annoying grown-up passengers occupied during a long trip.
Unfortunately, Volvo hasn’t published any photos or even mock-ups of this system yet. For now, we know it will include:
- Windows XP
- 500 GB hard drive
- Music library
- DVD player
- USB and A/V inputs
- Wi-Fi
We should see some more official stuff soon, given that the system should be ready for the Volvo XC60 and XC70 by this summer.
