
Disney adventure "Alice in Wonderland" stayed atop North American movie box offices for the third straight week, collecting $34.5 million and beating three new films including Jennifer Aniston comedy, "The Bounty Hunter."
Family film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" from 20th Century Fox film studio claimed the No. 2 spot with $21.8 million while, "Bounty Hunter," which came into the weekend heavily promoted by Columbia Pictures, was third with $21 million, according to studio estimates on Sunday.
The weekend's other new movie, science-fiction adventure "Repo Men" was a distant fourth with a mere $6.2 million. It was released by Universal Pictures, a unit of the NBC Universal media wing of General Electric Co.
The Disney film studio is a unit of Walt Disney Co., Fox is a division of News Corp and Columbia is part of the Sony Pictures Entertainment group of Sony Corp.
