As we have reported earlier, Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai released the audio of Imayamum Sigaramum Rettachuzhi on Monday. The first copy of the audio was received by ace lyricist and poet Vairamuthu. The former Miss World, draped in a beautiful white designer sari, was accompanied by her mother. Two songs and a trailer were screened for the full-house crowd. Those who attended the function include the lead actors Bharathi Raja and Balachander, director Thamira, music director Karthik Raja, Ramanarayanan, V.C. Guhanathan, Abhirami Ramanthan, Hansraj Saxena, actor Parthiban, directors Sasi, Lingusamy and Ameer. The dignitaries showered praises on the Bachchan bahu; Parthiban even recited a poem in her praise. Directed by Thamira and produced by S Pictures, Rettachuzhi is a full-length comedy. Set in a village near Tirunelveli, the story is about two village elders and their hilarious antics. There is a young romance included, but the main plot revolves around these mischievous old men, played by Bharathi Raja and Balachander. Producer-director Shankar in his address, said, I am proud to produce Rettachuzhi. It will make viewers happy. Shankar also said that Aishwarya Rai is a very dedicated actress and did not throw tantrums even during difficult situations while shooting. When Ash went behind the microphone, she quickly thanked the team for giving her the opportunity to share the stage with several prominent and experienced film personalities like K. Balachander, Bharathi Raja, Vairamuthu and Shankar. She called it a 'lifetime achievement' for her. Rettachuzhi director Thamira welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Director Bharathi Raja and director K. Balachander are considered two of Tamil cinema's best film makers. While the former tugged at our heartstrings with his rural tales, the latter dealt with relationships. Most of today's successful directors, irrespective of whether or not they have worked with these two, are in some way influenced by these two stalwarts' work. Now both of them have taken a break from directing and have come together to act in a movie.
