His meticulous attention to detail has been rather well documeted in perioicals. And Ashutosh Gowariker, currently crafting 'Khelien Hum Jee Jaan Sey' is sparing no effort to get every nuance right for the period opus.Reportedly, AG travelled to West Bengal and Bangladesh with his sound designer Stephen Gomes, in tow, to record the background score live for his movie as it would have been difficult to reproduce it in the studios.
Reveals producer Sunita Gowariker in a tabloid chat, "The entire sound track is going to be post produced in the studio. Since it's a period film, the costumes, sets and details as regards the sound also have to be in place. We needed to create the ambience of Bengal perfectly."
Adds she, "So, we sent our sound designer Stephen Gomes to Kolkata and other neighbouring villages so that we could get an original feel of all the sounds in the environment… the birds, temples and bells, spoken Bengali in villages, sounds of the bustling fish market, 'Baul' singers (traditional vocalists) and many others. It will all help to create a much more credible feel for the film."
Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, 'KHJJS' is a period drama based on 'Do And Die', Manini Chatterjee's book centred around the Chittagong Uprising of the 1930s.
Slated for a December 3, 2010 release, the much awaited Gowariker flick should prove to be a veritable treat for abiding admirers of Bachchan Jr. and Padukone.
