Shabana Azmi, crusader for women empowerment, kickstarted a new online campaign recently to spotlight yet another aspect of female concerns.
Azmi, ambassador of the international NGO 'Save The Children', initiated the cyber call urging more and more women to become more health conscious.
Alarming statistics indicate that there is a growing concern as regards maternal, newborn and child mortality in India.
"On the one hand we have India emerging as a global power," states Azmi in a news quote. "And on the other hand, we have shocking statistics on maternal, newborn and child mortality. As a nation we must invest in the health of mothers. Strong, healthy women lead to strong, healthy children."
