Claudia Wong forms her team consisting of a defensive Mexican backline and a vicious attacking Argentinean force
Goalkeeper:
Vincent Enyeama (Country: Nigeria, Match: Nigeria 1-2 Greece)
This is the second time I picked Enyeama in a week, and although Nigeria lost, his performance throughout was outstanding. His tears after the match say it all.
Defence:
Carlos Salcido (Country: Mexico, Match: Mexico 2-0 France)
This PSV Eindhoven left back brought a wealth of experience to the pitch, resiliently defending against the French.
Ricardo Osorio (Country: Mexico, Match: Mexico 2-0 France)
Osorio makes a great right back to have on the team, stable, calm and solid.
Francisco Rodriguez (Country: Mexico, Match: Mexico 2-0 France)
A very smooth game for Rodriguez, he used his tall build and height advantage to outmuscle his opponents. Watch the fouls though!
Jonas Gutierrez (Country: Argentina, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
Despite the booking, he fulfilled his defending duties nonetheless. Gutierrez made a decent contribution to the attacking play as well.
Midfield:
Javier Mascherano (Country: Argentina, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
He managed to keep South Korea's leading man Park Ji-Sung silent for most of the game, but should keep tabs on his disciplinary record.
Angel Di Maria (Country: Argentina, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
An excellent first half performance from the Barcelona star, his presence was a constant threat. His exudes hunger for goal in his every play.
Lee Chung-Yong (Country: South Korea, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
Perhaps the best performer from the South Korean side, he put up a good fight against the blue and whites. Unfortunate though, for his teammates not to convert.
Forwards:
Lionel Messi (Country: Argentina, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
Don't mess with the man, for he delivers his master class time and time again. Without his outstanding assists, Argentina's drubbing of South Korea could not have happened.
Gonzalo Higuain (Country: Argentina, Match: Argentina 4-1 South Korea)
The first hat-trick of the 2010 FIFA World CupTM, credit goes to him for finishing Messi's efforts well.
Giovani Dos Santos (Country: Mexico, Match: Mexico 2-0 France)
This livewire has had a delightful performance at the World Cup so far, he continues to be a threat in front of goal with his lightning pace and superb runs.
