HTC has announced that their Desire smartphone – aka the Nexus One with HTC Sense – will indeed be getting a launch in the US. As of August, according to the company’s official Twitter account, the Desire will debut on “select regional operators”, though they’re withholding details until closer to the launch.
The Desire has a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, multitouch support and 3G; it replaces the Nexus One’s physical trackball with an optical joystick, but otherwise is functionally very similar to the Google-branded phone.
