The NVIDIA GTX 460 video card launched recently and Asus has added its own models to the offerings on the market. The new video cards support 3D Vision Surround, DX11, PhysX, and CUDA like the other GTX 460 cards on the market.
Asus claims that its cards go beyond the average GTX 460 offerings with performance enhancing features like DirectCU thermal design, EMI Shield, and Fuse Protection. The DirectCU cooling solution is an Asus exclusive technology using 8mm copper heat pipes that are flattened to directly contact the GPU core for improved heat transfer.
There are two models available including the ENGTX460 Top with 768MB of RAM with two heat pipes and the ENGTX460 Top 1GB card using three heat pipes. The Asus cooling solution claims 20% better cooling than reference designs and should allow for better overclocking for enthusiasts. The line of video cards starts at $199.99.
