Apple’s last update of the day is a new 27-inch LED Cinema Display, the bigger sibling to the existing 24-inch model. Packing 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, the new Cinema Display uses an IPS LCD panel that offers 178-degree viewing angles; there are also 49W speakers (plus a subwoofer) and an integrated iSight webcam.
Connectivity, meanwhile, uses a single cable that makes hooking up your MacBook Pro more straightforward. That packs a pass-through power connection for your notebook, together with a Mini DisplayPort (for audio and video) and a USB port to hook up the new Cinema Display’s three port USB 2.0 hub.
As for hard specs, Apple are quoting a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 375 cd/m2 brightness and 12ms response time. The new Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display will go on sale in September, priced at $999.
