![]() Can you make a film with 1000 bucks? The talented actor and the writer of ‘Satya’ Saurabh Shukla did it…… Wanna know how, then listen to this kahani which has an interesting ‘twist’. It all began when Saurabh Shukla was called by FTII to give guest lectures. He gave the topic of conversation between man and woman to eat ice-cream and asked all 16 students to write one page of script for the same. From each page he took the opening dialogue and compiled it as one script. From this disjointed script he created a story that was shot as short film of 25 minutes. He did not even allow the use of any artificial light and shot it in original lights. ‘Let Me Twist’ was born and it cost him Rs 1000 only and fetched him priceless recognition. This Film was shown in Philadelphia where later he was invited to deliver a lecture on the making of this film. It’s been shown and appreciated at Kala Ghoda Festival and has managed to win awards in many short film festivals. IIT Chennai called him to conduct special Workshops after the screening of this short film. Other speakers at this workshop were Santosh Sivan, Dibakar Bannerjee, Balki and Shimit Amin. “Its so enlightening to interact with the younger generation. We teach them and learn a lot in return,” commented Saurabh. |
