Swaroop Khan Eliminated- Indian Idol, 3rd August 2010

Swaroop Khan who had mesmerised the audiences with his Rajasthani flavour has been eliminated in Indian Idol V. The singer had unexpectedly very long stay in the contest despite of the fact that he was suffering with sore throat and he had also faced several critical comments from judges, specially Anu Mallik. However, the singer was praised for his orginal style of singing by music director Shankar Mahadevan and Bappi Lahiri. The best thing about this singer is that he stayed in the show with his orgininality and the lack of tact and pomp was quite apparent as he was always subject of mock for his deficiencies in communication specially spoken english.

  1. If you have followed his Indian Idol journey closely you would find him to be a better than most of us city dwellers. He never heard of Indian Idol when he got selected. He continued to journey and did what he was asked to do sing film songs which he is not familiar of and did his best. He just enjoyed the journey without any anxiety and left the show without any regrets. For him, he has not lost anything and he just gained in this journey and hence not cried when eliminated. Great to see such an understanding in a 19 year old folk singer coming from a small village.
