Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has targeted keeping his place in the side that faces Chelsea this weekend.
The Swiss defender had knee surgery last season, and made only his third senior appearance against Partizan Belgarde in the Champions League this season.
The 23-year-old is tired of time on the bench and said to reporters that he was looking to stake a place in the Arsenal starting XI.
"That's what I'm aiming for. I'm a footballer, I'm a pro, I want to play every game", said Djourou.
"I'm working very hard in training; I'm working very hard in the games I've had in the reserves and in the League Cup as well.
"Now I'm just ready to go and I'm really happy the boss sees that and gives me the chance again.
"I'm really happy because I'm coming back from a long injury and enjoying myself again.
"Hopefully, we can keep going for the weekend."
Djourou also believes that a win over Chelsea this weekend would change opinions that Arsenal were too light-weight to win the English Premier League this season.
He added: "It will tell the world that Arsenal is ready to take on the crown."
