Europa League Thursday Review

Liverpool and Manchester City were both held to draws while reigning champions Atletico Madrid failed to win as well.
Europa League Thursday Review
Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by Utrecht in their Europa League clash after another disjointed performance.
A point in the Stadion Galgenwaard, where the hosts had won their previous six matches, was no disgrace but it was hardly one of those classic, gritty away performances in Europe.
Roy Hodgson's side, who had five successive Europa League victories prior to this game, were dominated for long periods and their clean sheet owed much to goalkeeper Jose Reina and a goalline clearance from Raul Meireles.

Manchester City drew 1-1 with Juventus in their Europa League Group A clash.
Eastlands was stunned 10 minutes into the game as Vincenzo Iaquinta's 30-yard effort deflected past Joe Hart off Kolo Toure.
But Adam Johnson's smart run and finish levelled matters before half-time.
Both sides had chances after the break - Alessandro Del Piero going closest with a free-kick that hit the underside of the bar before bouncing on the line and away to safety - but there were no further goals.
The point takes City to four points from their opening two games.
Defending champions Atletico Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Group B leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
Eren Derdiyok's goal just before the break handed Leverkusen the lead before Atletico got back on level terms six minutes into the second half through Simao Sabrosa's penalty.
Paris St Germain stormed to the top of Europa League Group J with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv.
The French side are now surprise leaders in a tough-looking group with two wins out of two.
Christophe Jallet's strike in the fourth minute gave the French Cup winners the perfect start and Brazilian striker Nene extended PSG's control of the match after 20 minutes.
Sevilla earned their first victory in the same group with a hard-fought 1-0 win at 10-man Borussia Dortmund.
Sevilla went ahead through Luca Cigarini with a goal two minutes into first-half stoppage-time, before the hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 50th minute when Marcel Schmelzer was given his second yellow card.
Edinson Cavani struck in the eighth minute of injury-time to earn Napoli a point against 10-man Steaua Bucharest in a 3-3 thriller in Romania.
The Italians had trailed 3-0 after 16 minutes but the sending-off of goalscorer Pantelis Kapetanos turned the game, allowing Luigi Vitale, Marek Hamsik and Cavani to help the Italians pull off an amazing comeback.
Falcao earned Porto a second successive victory with a 1-0 win at CSKA Sofiato leave them top of Group L, ahead of Besiktas on goal difference.
The Colombian was set up by strike partner Hulk to give the visitors an early lead they never relinquished.
Besiktas came from behind to beat Rapid Vienna 2-1.
Veli Kavlak gave Rapid the lead but Filip Holosko - a first-half substitute for the injured Ricardo Quaresma - quickly equalised.
And Bobo grabbed the winner as the Istanbul outfit - who won their first game against Sofia courtesy of a last-minute goal - joined Porto on six points ahead of the two teams' double-header.
Ante Vukusic was the hero as Hajduk Split grabbed a 95th-minute winner against Anderlecht to steal what had been a scrappy Group G encounter 1-0 while Zenit St Petersburg heaped more misery on troubled AEK Athens by claiming a 4-2 win.
Early goals from Tomas Hubocan and Danny put the hosts in control and a reply from Nikos Liberopoulos proved only a brief tonic as Danko Lazovic converted a penalty before half-time.
That came after Cristian Nasuti had seen red for a professional foul, and Lazovic grabbed his side's fourth in the second half before Pantelis Kafes reduced the deficit with a late penalty.
In Group I, Sampdoria ended their month-long wait for a victory with a nervy 1-0 win over Debrecen thanks to Giampaolo Pazzini's 18th-minute penalty whilePSV Eindhoven were 2-0 winners at Metalist Kharkiv.
Young Boys defeated Getafe by the same scoreline while Stuttgart were 2-1 winners at Odense in Group H.
BATE Borisov moved to the top of Group E with a handsome 4-1 victory over struggling Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Vitaly Rodionov, Artem Kontsevoy, Renan Bressan and Edgar Olekhnovich all scored for BATE, with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson hitting back in the 89th minute.
The other game in that group saw Dynamo Kiev humbled 2-0 at FC Sheriff as Alexander Erokhin and Brazilian striker Jymmy got the goals.
Villarreal got their Group D campaign up and running with a deserved 2-1 victory over 10-man Club Brugge at El Madrigal.
The Yellow Submarine, who are enjoying a good start to the domestic Spanish season, lost to Dinamo Zagreb in their opening group outing but bounced back in this one thanks to goals in either half from Giuseppe Rossi and Gonzalo Rodriguez.
Club Brugge, who played most of the match a man light following the 25th-minute dismissal of Ronald Vargas for violent conduct, bagged a consolation through Ryan Donk on the stroke of the interval.
PAOK Salonika were 1-0 winners over Dinamo Zagreb in the other Group D match, Vladimir Ivic scoring the only goal of the game.
Goals from Daniel Carrico, Maniche, Diogo Salomao, Helder Postiga and Matias Fernandez gave Sporting Lisbon a 5-0 win against Levski Sofia in Group C, while Gent drew 1-1 with Lille.
Stijn De Smet gave Gent a sixth-minute lead and Pierre-Alain Frau equalised soon after.
In Group A, Lech Poznan got their first win as they beat Salzburg 2-0, Manuel Arboleda and Slawomir Peszko with the goals.
Rosenborg moved their Group B campaign back on track by beating Aris Salonika 2-1.
Morten Moldskred had put Rosenborg ahead although the visitors responded rapidly as Carlos Ruiz equalised just before the break. Rade Prica's 68th-minute strike proved to be the winner.
CSKA Moscow needed three second-half goals to beat Sparta Prague 3-0 in Group F.
Midfielder Giulio Migliaccio headed the only goal as Palermo beat Lausanne1-0 in the other Group F clash.
