Wipro met estimates with a 10 percent rise in third-quarter profit, driven by improving demand for offshoring services, but still underperformed rivals.
The MSCI's measure of Asian markets other than Japan was down 0.5 percent by 0301 GMT, while Japan's Nikkei was trading 0.9 percent lower.
The Nifty India stock futures in Singapore were down 0.5 percent, indicating a lower open in the domestic market.
On Thursday, the 30-share BSE index rose 0.4 percent to 19,046.54 points.

* HCL Infosystems after the company said it had bagged a large order from the government of Assam to provide 7,200 laptops.
* McNally Bharat Engg Co Ltd after the company got order worth 1.08 billion rupees.
* Binani Industries Ltd after the company said it would acquire remaining 56.8 million shares, or 30.1 percent of Binani Cement, at floor price of 82 rupees each.
* KPIT Cummins Infosystems after the Pune-based firm's consolidated quarterly net profit rose 18 percent.
