Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is being unfair in offering jobs to the people whose land was acquired for railway projects only during her tenure, West Bengal Industry Minister Nirupam Sen said today.
"The Railway Minister is saying that she will not take responsibility for what was done during the previous railway minister''s tenure. This is most unfair, because government is a continuing process and such a decision should be applicable for all," Sen told reporters.
"If this policy is followed, no railway project will materialise. She is instigating people with promise of jobs," Sen told reporters to a question.
Pointing that those who offered land earlier should also be offered jobs, he said, "If the Railway Minister cannot offer benefit to all, she should return all land acquired so far and directly purchase it for railway projects." PTI AKB PC
