T-Series files lawsuit against OC of CWG 2010 for copyright infringement

Bhushan Kumar The problems of the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 don't seem to end even though the games ended long back. The latest issue facing the Organising Committee of the CWG is that music label T-Series has sent a legal notice worth one crore for infringement of copyright. The Organising Committee apparently played some songs belonging to T-Series without the required permission or license.

Some of the songs are from popular T-Series albums such as Kaminey, Slumdog Millionaire, Housefull and Om Shanti Om etc. T-Series claims that the Committee had taken ground license for playing the songs but they never took the license for telecast rights. Looks like the problems of the Organising Committee of the CWG 2010 are far from over.
