51-Year-Old LOST Actor Marries 16-Year-Old Aspiring Country Singer

He played a hippie in LOST's third season, but actor Doug Hutchison is now in a marriage that even Horace Goodspeed might disapprove of. The actor, 51, who is also famous for his turns in The Green Mile and The X-Files, has married a sixteen-year-old aspiring country music singer. That girl, Courtney Alexis Stodden, is trying to position herself as a Nashville star, E! Online is reporting.

Hutchison and Stodden tied the knot on May 20 in Las Vegas. And while they likely to attract plenty of controversy (she's a third his age!), they're surprisingly not trying to hide from the tabloid limelight. In an exclusive statement to E! News, the couple insists that it all comes down to love.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," they said, "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

The union certainly is a little strange, and will probably attract a lot of media attention over the next few months. But maybe that's what the couple wants, either to spread their message of love or to spread Stodden's name (the whole "there's no such thing as bad publicity," sort of thing).
