90210 Season 4 Spoilers, Matt Cohen on Set & Other Behind the Scenes Photos

Spoilers are slowly but surely pouring in for the fourth season of 90210.  The two new showrunners, Patti Carr and Lara Olsen, spoke with TV Guide about upcoming storylines and dropped a few hints about the direction of next season.  Also, Supernatural's Matt Cohen will be appearing in a few episodes of season 4 and photos of him on set (as well as other behind the scenes photos) have surfaced.
Last week we reported about several guest stars for season 4.  Matt Cohen ended up replacing Drew Seeley, who wasn't able to make it to the set after all.
Heading to College
The West Beverly kids have graduated from high school and are headed to college in season 4.  But don't expect college to be the focus of the show.  Carr and Olsen said that their goal is to keep the friends together, even though they're going to different colleges (and some of the kids aren't going to college at all).  "Our overall concept for the season is that when you graduate from high school you launch yourself into your new adult life. You go through a process of trying to figure out who you are, and ultimately, your friends are the people who know the real you and they become your family. That's our approach for everyone."
Returning Characters & Teddy's New Focus
We know that Trevor Donovan, who plays Teddy, will not be a regular next season and will only recur in a handful of episodes.  According to Carr and Olsen, he's the only character not returning in a full time capacity.
However, the showrunners say they do have a big story in mind for Teddy.  His storyline in season 4 will focus on him coming out to his family like he did with his friends last season.  He will also be appearing in 90210's season premiere and the on set photos seem to confirm that.  And while he's no longer dating Marco after the summer, he will have more prospective boyfriends.
How Do You Solve a Problem Like Adriana?
Adriana did some pretty unforgivable things last season, but she chose to try to strive for redemption in the last few moments of the season 3 finale.  The showrunners have said that her desire to change is genuine and she'll be reaching out to her friends at the beginning of season 4.  The first person she'll want to approach is Silver.  Her road to redemption will not be easy - or quick.  Expect several episodes to focus on this.
Naomi & Max
One of the big surprises at the end of season 3 was Naomi's declaration to Max that she was pregnant.  Was she lying?  Carr said "We can say that we don't think of Naomi as a character who's a big liar, and we do know she has real feelings for Max (Josh Zuckerman). But we think the audience needs to tune in and find out how that's going to work out."
Expect Max to appear in season 4, although there's no indication of exactly how many episodes he'll be in yet.
Ivy and Raj
This couple got married in season 3 and will still be married when 90210 returns.  The premiere will have them trying to find out whether Raj's most recent chemo treatment was successful or not.
Annie and Liam
Despite the fact that Annie chased after Liam in the finale, he still left town for the summer.  When season 4 premieres, Liam will have "made a very interesting decision regarding his relationship with Annie, and it's definitely something viewers will be interested in", according to Carr.
Silver and Navid
This couple are excited about living together in season 4, but Adriana was not their only problem.  According to the showrunners, there will be another "outsider" who will cause them problems.
Below are on set photos, including shots of Matt Cohen's character interacting with Annie and Naomi.  90210 returns to The CW on September 13.
