That was a long break for the Real Housewives of New Jersey, but the drama picked right up from where it left off.
Last night's episode gave us a lighter tone with all of the families (sans the Wakiles) trying to get along with each other and help mend the fences between Teresa, her brother Joey, and Melissa. I'd say the operation was a success, but I'm guessing that complications are likely to ensue later on down the line. Elsewhere, Lauren Manzo had a fit about not being around Albie and Chris anymore, while Kathy and Rich received words of wisdom from Al Manzo.
Kathy
While Rich was still looking for a nice place for Kathy's restaurant, the new NJ Housewife started to have some reservations about the whole venture. Luckily a trip to The Brownstone and a talk with Al Manzo set these two wannabe entrepreneurs straight. Basically, Al told the Wakiles that starting up a restaurant isn't as glamorous as they (well, mainly Rich) thinks. There are long hours, little vacation time, and then there is that whole family thing you would start to neglect if the place becomes a success. In other words, start off small and then see what happens.
The cautionary tale not only came from a good place, but also mirrored Caroline's sentiments concerning having more time to spend with Al. He seemingly shares the same feelings, but I bet he's not ready to pass the Brownstone over to Chris and Albie just yet. I don't blame him either.
Melissa
The other new NJ Housewife also has her eyes on a side project of her own. Melissa and Joe invited over music producers to listen to RHONJ's very own musical Housewife. After Melissa belted out her tune, the producers loved what they heard, but also knew that work would need to be done. When they mentioned that said work would take up to 13-15 hours a day, Joey practically did a double take and immediately started turning their basement into a music studio. His reasoning? Melissa is a mother and has to take care of home first, which is true, but he can help out in taking care of the kids or at least find someone to help out. Right?
Jacqueline
After Ashley had the nerve to chastise her own mother for being drawn to other people's drama, I was waiting for Jacqueline (or anyone for that matter) to smack the hell out of her. However, when Jacqueline went to visit Kim G., I couldn't help but think that Ashley was hitting on something. Although, Ashley still would've gotten a tongue lashing for blasting her mother on national television, which was just not cool at all. Not after Jacqueline catches a lot of crap for Ashley'sbehavior.
Anyway, Kim G. used Jacqueline's visit (aka the cameras) to give us more back story on herself. For instance, Kim G. had a brain tumor once and shed a few tears discussing the traumatic event with Jacqueline.
Then Kim G. immediately went in on Teresa's money issues, despite Jacqueline's wishes to not discuss them. That action totally trumped her brain tumor issue, or rather made me forget all about it at that moment. Plus, her nasty ways are not helping her at all with anyone, especially her blatant attempts at being a villain on the Real Housewives of New Jersey this year. Danielle Staub you are not, Mrs. Granatell.
Caroline
Seems like Caroline is not alone in her sadness about Albie and Chris moving out. Lauren had a nice-sized tantrum about not being around her brothers 24/7. To be honest, it was a bit odd for the sassy Mini Caroline to channel her inner Ashley Holmes, because that was who she was seriously sounding like during those scenes. Plus, Chris and Albie's facial expressions of "Huh?" matched my own throughout the night. Hopefully, it looked as if this will only be one freak out, because if not, Caroline will not have it and will snuff it out by the end of the season.
Teresa
With people suing them left and right, Teresa and Joe tried to smile through it all, but there is only so much you can take. For instance, while preparing for a court appearance against Joe's former business partner (who is now suing him), Teresa catches wind of a lady speaking trash about her around town named Monica Saracino, who is the wife of the lawyer of Joe's ex business partner. During the hearing, Teresa got into a shouting match with the Saracino, who is tight friends with Kim G. and made it her business to tell Melissa and Kathy that she was "suing" Teresa at the Porsche Fashion show. In short, the woman is another troublemaker and I think it's very unprofessional on Saracino's part to bring up a lawsuit to people outside of those involved with the case. Especially if it is someone like Kim G.
Anyway, besides all that unnecessary drama, Teresa and Joe attended Jacqueline's Christmas party where Joey and Melissa were also invited. The two parties managed to get along during the party and Joey even won me over a bit with the way he handled himself. The guy isn't all that bad I guess. However, things turned sour once Melissa and Teresa got into a little snafu that Teresa so started due to being irritated with Caroline and Jacqueline getting along so well with Melissa. Thank God Caroline was between them, because all hell could've broken loose up in Casa Laurita, which would've unfortunately proven Ashley's point from earlier in the episode.
That was all from this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but next week's episode seems like it will have me pulling out the little bit of hair on my head. All I'm saying is this: Melissa, Teresa, Kathy, Kim G. and Monica Saracino in the same vicinity.
Oh here go hell come.
