Here is the image you've been waiting for: Henry Cavill as Superman. Jaw: Square. Suit: Blue, but bumpy. Cape: Oh yeah, it's red baby. I haven't been this excited for Superman since Tim Burton announced he had cast Nicholas Cage! Okay, the truth is I was not excited at all - and this is to say, there really is no parallel, it's a new day, a new Superman, and we'll all just have to wait and see how it turns out.
So what can we tell from this image? For starters, it has Snyder's darker color palette. The hiring of Snyder always suggested a darker Superman. Also, supes seems a little sweaty in this pic. When has Supermansweat before? Not that it is a negative, but is there an effort to give him a human side - or is he just wet? Now, the suit design. Well, I'm a bit disappointed to see it all divoted like a golf ball. That 'mesh style' seems to be superhero norm these days, but I wouldn't nix this Superman over a few nubs.
All and all, the only thing that the pic really establishes is that... I'll be damned if Henry Cavill isn't a damn good looking Superman.
