Film Chamber reacts to FEFSI's charges

The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has condemned the Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) for coming out with a statement which leveled various charges against it.

In a statement, the SIFCC said, "We conducted talks with FEFSI regarding the increase of wages to workers only after producers from all the four south Indian languages asked us to do so. This is a common thing."

The statement further said: "In the year 2000 also, it was the SIFCC which held the wage revision talks. Since no amicable solution was found during the talks this time, we called for a strike from September 7 and the decision was accepted by all producers."

On Thursday, FEFSI secretary G Siva said in a statement, "We don't have any problem with film producers in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, we request the SIFCC to stop interfering in our issues." He also said the workers were not demanding huge hike from the producers.
