Tahaan is an award winning hindi film based on the life of a young boy living in Kashmir. This is a drama movie for both adults and children.
A Bollywood Indian Children drama film directed by Santosh Sivan, Tahaan is a fable-like journey of the eponymous eight-year-old boy, whose life revolves around the pursuit to find real purpose in his little world.
The film stars Purav Bhandare as the young boy. Anupam Kher, Sarika, Rahul Bose, Rahul Khanna and Victor Banerjee form the rest of the cast. It was filmed on location in Jammu and Kashmir.
A tender fable about childhood innocence amid the realities of war is set against the rugged landscape of Kashmir, so long a flash point for the territorial claims of neighboring India and Pakistan. The title character, an eight year old mountain boy, often hears distant gunfire. But it is not until he goes on a quest to reclaim his beloved donkey, which has been confiscated as payment of his poor family's debts, that he is drawn toward a violence he has no capacity to understand.
Tahaan was very much appreciated by a lot of critics and has won a lot of international awards that include "Best Picture" at Pusan film Festival
