Good evening all, and welcome to our exclusive coverage of today's final round of Group A matches. The question on everyone's minds is, of course - will France be knocked out?
We will be taking a look at France vs. South Africa, as it happens, but also bring you periodic updates from what is happening between Uruguay and Mexico. Remember, even if France pull of an unlikely victory, a draw in the other will see them being knocked out.
Here are the starting lineups for the game -
France: 1-Hugo Lloris; 2-Bacary Sagna, 5-William Gallas, 17-Sebastien Squillaci, 22-Gael Clichy; 18-Alou Diarra, 19-Abou Diaby, 8-Yoann Gourcuff, 7-Franck Ribery; 11-Andre-Pierre Gignac, 9-Djibril Cisse.
South Africa: 1-Moeneeb Josephs; 5-Anele Ngcongoa, 20-Bongani Khumalo, 4-Aaron Mokoena, 3-Tsepo Masilela, 6-MacBeth Sibaya, 23-Thanduyise Khuboni, 10-Steven Pienaar, 8-Siphiwe Tshabalala, 9-Katlego Mphela, 17-Bernard Parker.
In the wake of the turmoil in the French camp, the first XI has no Abidal, Evra or Malouda. And of course, Anelka. Meanwhile, Toulalan is suspended, while South Africa keeper Khune and midfield dynamo Dikgacoi are also suspended, so Khuboni and Moneeb Josephs both come into the starting lineup.
Kick off is in a few moments, so do stay with us. Remember to refresh this page every few minutes for the latest updates, and, if you are a French fan, don't weep too hard.
The Anthems are being played, and considering both sides need to win to even be in contention for the next round, we could have a very exciting, open game.
And we're off! France, in their blue strip, kick us off.
2 min - A half chance for Les Bleus - Gourcuff slipped in a wonderful pass from the left, finding Gignac in space at the edge of the box, but the striker's shot was low and straight at the keeper.
4 min - France win a corner, which Gourcuff swings in menacingly. It is headed clear and then botted away for a throw-in.
6 min - Apparently France could only get 10 players together for their team photo before the match. So much for fraternity, eh? However, they have done decently so far, putting some pressure on the South African defence and maintaining possession.
8 min - South Africa are struggling to get the ball, even though France have been unable to create any real chances as of yet.
11 min - A wonderful flick from Ribery allows Diaby to advance to the edge of the area, where he mystifyingly chips it out of play.
13 min - France win another corner, which is swung in by Gourcuff but headed clear yet again. France regain the ball quickly but so far this game has been fairly poor.
16 min - The South African side finally get a bout of possession, leading to an explosion of noise within the stadium. However, after passing it around in midfield, it is played to Khuboni, whose shot from distance flies into the stands.
19 min - South Africa win their first corner and...
GOAL!!! France 0-1 South Africa (Khumalo 20')
Well, it goes from bad to worse for the French! Tshabalala swung in a good corner to the far post, and Lloris tried to come out and punch but couldn't get to it. At the far post, Khumalo leapt about 6 feet off the ground and headed it in well.
22 min - South Africa win another corner, but this time it is hoofed clear by Squillaci. The vuvuzelas are well and truly blaring now.
24 min - France look in tatters here...Mphela has just slipped past three lethargic defenders before firing a low shot just wide from the edge of the area.
RED CARD!!! After a scramble in South Africa's box, Yoann Gourcuff is sent off, seemingly for an elbow into Sibaya when going for a header! It didn't look malicious, but the defender is down and Gourcuff will have to go now...
28 min - I'm still fairly unclear as to why that was a straight red, as there did not seem to be any intent in Gourcuff's jump, and the elbow seemed more inadvertent than angry. Still, South Africa are zipping it around well and look buoyed by the sending off.
32 min - Diaby makes a poor tackle from behind on Pienaar. South Africa win a free kick just outside the box, and Tshabalala's shot is powerful but drifts just over the bar.
UPDATE from the other game - its still 0-0 between Uruguay and Mexico, in an open game where Mexico hit the bar from a long shot and both sides are creating plenty of chances.
GOAL!!! France 0-2 South Africa (Mphela 36')
Is there going to be a miracle here?? After some laughable defending from Diaby and Gallas, a low ball in from Masilela is tapped in by Mphela after some chaos in the box. Can the hosts pull off something special here?
38 min - It's all happening here - South Africa look very eager to get on with it, and they want more goals. Pienaar sets Mphela through and he puts it in the back of the net, but is adjudged offside. That was close, and the French defence seems to be on strike considering what has been happening over the past few minutes.
41 min - What a save from Josephs! After winning a free kick near the half line, it is hoofed long by Clichy and goes past everyone and seems certain to be going in...until Josephs dives across and palms it over with amazing athleticism.
42 min - Almost immediately, at the other end, Mphela lets fly from 25 yards, forcing Lloris to dive low to his right and push it behind for a corner. The corner is headed clear after a tangle in the box, but the French defence is having a torrid time dealing with anything.
UPDATE - Uruguay 1-0 Mexico (Luis Suarez 42')
In the other game, Uruguay have taken the lead thanks to a header from Luis Suarez after some impressive interplay between Forlan and Cavani. This could be a very dramatic night indeed...
45 min - France finally keep possession for a fair amount of time, for the first time since the opening goal. However, as the commentator says, they look short of a leader, and out of ideas.
HALF TIME - South Africa 2-0 France, Uruguay 1-0 Mexico
What an entertaining 45 minutes we have had so far. The French defence have been having an existential crisis of sorts, even though that red card for Gourcuff seemed rather unfair. The French have looked dismal, as one would expect from a team whose coach is a clown. A better side than Bafana Bafana would have been four or five up against them by this time.
Over in the other game, it has been close, end to end stuff, and Uruguay are ahead thanks to a good piece of play from Forlan and Suarez, their target men. The way things stand, Mexico and Uruguay will still go through, but should there be another goal from Uruguay, or two more from South Africa (both very plausible situations), it could get very very interesting indeed.
We will have the 2nd half from both games in a few moments, so stay with us...
46 min - France kick us off again, pass it around for a little while and then lose possession.
48 min - After a cross in from Tshabalala is headed clear, Parker does well to win the ball and unleashes a shot, but it is straight at Lloris, who saves easily.
50 min - Mphela hits the post!!! After a wonderful through pass from Tshabalala, Mphela found himself clean through on goal, but his first time shot went over Lloris and hit the right hand side of the woodwork! That really should have been 3-0.
52 min - Ngcongca is down injured, and could well be substituted, as the stretcher has been called for. Meanwhile, in the other game, Perez has just pulled off a brilliant save to stop Lugano's header. this group is still very much alive.
54 min - Gaxa is on for the injured Ngcongca, while France make a substitution as well - Thierry Henry has replaced Cisse, whose last contribution was a shot on goal that went just over the bar.
57 min - Lloris makes another good save! Some shambolic defending from France sees a clearance fall to Mphela, just outside the box, and his powerful shot is palmed clear by the diving Lyon keeper.
59 min - South Africa win another corner, but it goes over everyone and out for a throw.
61 min - Another great chance for the Bafana Bafana! Again its Mphela who latches onto a good pass down the left and then looks to be in, but his shot is well saved by Lloris, who rushed out quickly and blocked it.
63 min - Malouda chips a ball over the South African defence to Henry who, surprise surprise, controls with his hand and then lashes a shot well wide.
65 min - Pienaar unleashes a powerful shot but its low and straight at Lloris, who saves easily. The South Africans are pushing hard here, and the crowd is well and truly behind them, blaring the vuvuzelas astonishingly loudly and booing every French touch. Meanwhile, Nomwethe is on for Bernard Parker.
GOAL!!! France 1-2 South Africa (Malouda 69')
After some good play down the right between Sagna and Diarra, the latter makes a good run and then finds Ribery in the center. Ribery drew the keeper out before passing across the face of goal for the onrushing Malouda to tap into an empty net. Against the run of play, but surely the Bafana Bafana party is over now.
72 min - Diaby is booked for a poor tackle on Masilela on the left, and Pienaar's free kick is good, but scrambled clear.
74 min - France are finally getting some possession now, and, for a change, actually passing it to one another. Too little too late, no doubt, but they win a free kick that Ribery swings in dangerously before Henry is flagged for offside.
77 min - South Africa are still pressing hard, but, despite the best efforts of Gallas, who stands still as Nomvethe skips past him, they can't find another goal as Squillaci heads a cross clear. Meanwhile, Teko Modise has come on for Khuboni.
Update from the other game - despite a lot of pressure from Mexico, Uruguay are hanging on to their 1-0 lead, and those two sides seem most likely to qualify, unless South Africa can score two or three in the last ten minutes here.
82 min - Malouda wins a free kick after being wrestled to the ground by Sibaya, near the half line. Meanwhile, Sidney Govou, quite possibly the worst player of the World Cup so far, judging from his first two performances, has replaced Diarra.
85 min - The game has slowed a bit now. South Africa still look determined to score, but the French are holding by just hoofing the ball clear, and intercepting the less than stellar passes from the Bafana.
88 min - Despite France being absolutely awful, South Africa have been unimpressive too. They should have had at least five or six considering the way Les Bleus are defending, but have not taken their chances well and will be disappointed with their final touch for the most part.
90 min - There will be 3 minutes of added time. Malouda makes a wonderful run through midfield, skipping past four or five tackles with ease, then passing wide to Sagna, whose cross is headed clear.
90 + 2 min - That really, really should have been a third! The shambolic France defence did absolutely nothing as Nomvethe's cross found the unmarked Tshabalala, who took a touch and then shot low and hard. Lloris made yet another great save, diving to his right before Gallas hoofed it clear.
Update - Uruguay have beaten Mexico 1-0, with the solitary goal coming from Luis Suarez.
Full Time - France 1-2 South Africa
A deserved victory for the South Africans, but they really should have made the margin much wider. They will still be happy with the win, but one has to wonder why Lloris tried so hard when none of his teammates, except maybe Malouda and Diarra, seemed to do the same.
So it is confirmed - Uruguay top Group A, while Mexico come in 2nd despite their loss. You have to feel for the hosts, who really did try their hardest. Perhaps not so much for France, whose performance, like their unity, was very poor.
