Group C: Slovenia 2-2 United States

USA came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Slovenia and blow the top of Group C wide open.

Slovenia looked far from convincing in their opening game - a narrow 1-0 win over Algeria - but they proved their quality in the first half this time out and looked to be heading through to the last 16 after establishing a 2-0 lead.

Valter Birsa curled home a fine opener in the 13th minute and Zlatan Ljubijankic beat the offside trap to add a second before the interval as the US struggled to handle the World Cup's smallest nation.

It was a different story after the break, though, and it was one-way traffic towards the Slovenia goal from the moment Landon Donovan reduced the deficit three minutes after the break.

Michael Bradley finally made the pressure pay with the equaliser eight minutes from time and Jozy Altidore had a goal ruled out soon after as the Americans pushed hard for a victory.
