Man City in £20m bid for Drogba

Manchester City are preparing a £20 million bid for Chelsea and Ivory Coast star striker Didier Drogba.

City manager Roberto Mancini is reportedly a huge admirer of the powerful striker and is keen in prying him from Stamford Bridge, according to The Sun.

Drogba is regarded as one of the most feared strikers in the world after winning the Premier League golden boot last season, scoring 29 league goals for Chelsea in the process and leading the Blues to the league and FA Cup titles.

The Chelsea star would sign a three-year deal worth a total of £18 million if he does join the Citizens, and will team up with £60 million worth of new signings in the form of David Silva, Jerome Boateng and Yaya Toure.

However, the 32-year-old has two years remaining in his contract at Stamford Bridge but could be tempted by a tantalizing strike partnership with Argentina striker Carlos Tevez.
