Netherlands forward Dirk Kuyt has insisted that the Dutch will not fear Spain like how Germany did in the semi-finals.
The Oranje will be aiming for a place in Dutch folklore when they take on the European champions in the World Cup final on Sunday.History will be made regardless of the outcome of the game as both sides have never in their history lifted the World Cup, with the Netherlands finishing second in 1974 and 1978 and Spain taking part in their first ever World Cup final.
But Kuyt revealed that fear will not come in the way of Dutch glory.
"We are not afraid at all," Kuyt told The Guardian.
"You could see the Germans were afraid of Spain. They didn't try to attack. We are going to attack and then you will see weaknesses coming to the surface.
"If you play like the Germans you are definitely going to lose.
"We don't have players who are afraid and we don't have players who feel small against the big opponents. There is respect, but not fear."

The Liverpool man is also adamant that quality and resilience have been the formula for the Dutch success thus far in South Africa and that they deserve to be at the final.
"Dutch football is always very strong and, in every tournament we play, we show we have quality.
"But, in this tournament, we have shown we have more than just quality. We also have belief. We believe we can beat every opponent in front of us. We have the patience to do that. Against Brazil we were 1-0 down, but we still had the conviction that we could win.
"Against Uruguay in the semi-final they equalised and, in tournaments in the past, we would have gone on to lose it from that point.
"But this time we stayed focused. We believed in our own qualities. We kept our positions and, in the second half, were the only side that deserved to win."
