Alcatraz: First Look at Fox's New Midseason Drama

J.J. Abrams will be bringing another show to Fox this winter.  Abrams, along with Elizabeth Sarnoff (Lost and Deadwood) will produce Alcatraz, a new drama about the United States's most famous prison.  Expect a large ensemble cast to be involved in this show.  Here's the premise:
San Francisco Police Department Detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones, Sons of Anarchy) is assigned to solve a homicide case.  But there's a twist: a fingerprint at the scene leads her to a suspect - Jack Sylvane (guest star Jeffrey Pierce, The Nine), who was an Alcatraz inmate.  Except Sylvane actually died decades ago.
Madsen has a connection to the prison: her grandfather and surrogate uncle were once guards at Alcatraz.  She launches into her investigation, but is hampered along the way by  government agent Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill, Jurassic Park and The Tudors).  But Madsen is determined and asks Alcatraz expert and comic book enthusiast, Dr. Diego "Doc" Soto (Jorge Garcia, Lost) for help.  The two of them soon learn that Sylvane is actually alive, and hasn't aged a day since his supposed death.  This leads them into a full-scale investigation into the prison and its secrets.
Below is the first video look at Alcatraz, along with promo photos from the new series.
Alcatraz will premiere midseason on Fox and will be airing Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET (after House).
