After cancelling a sizable chunk of their line-up and giving a surprise renewal to a beloved sci-fi show, Fox announced their primetime schedule for the upcoming season on Monday morning.
Sundays finds The Cleveland Show taking the post-NFL timeslot of 7:30 to help make room for the debut of Jonah Hill's Allen Gregory,which allows American Dad to take the post-Family Guy slot. Dino drama Terra Nova will lead off the night on Mondays, shifting House back an hour. Tuesdays finds Raising Hope being pushed back half an hour, making room for the Zooey Deschanel comedy The New Girl. As expected, Wednesday and Thursday will see the debut of Simon Cowell's The X Factor in the same timeslot as American Idol, leading into new comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter and utility player Bones respectively. Fridays are the only unchanged night, as Kitchen Nightmares and Fringe will be paired together again. Fringe will be taking on NBC's Grimm, which was announced as a surprise new Friday show yesterday.Midseason finds Bob's Burgers getting a shot post-Family Guy with Napoleon Dynamite taking over for Allen Gregory, while Alcatraz will take over the Monday 9:00 timeslot from House. House will then shift back to its regular 8:00 timeslot. The Finder will debut in the post-X Factor slot sometime in midseason with Bones taking some time off for Emily Deschanel's pregnancy, only to resume sometime in spring. Currently unscheduled but in the works are Howie Mandel's Mobbed, Little in Common, Family Album, and Kiefer Sutherland's Touch.
On an interesting note, American Idol will be having a special debut after the NFC Championship Game on January 22nd at 10:00 before moving to its regular time.
