The Dancing with the Stars Season 12 Semifinals officially begin tonight, with the remaining 4 set to perform three dances. Each couple will have to dance 1 ballroom dance and 1 latin dance that they haven’t yet danced, as well as participate in a winner take all bonus cha cha round. The winner of the bonus round will have 15 points added to their score, making the margin wider and more difficult for fan votes to close.
I smell something so fishy here, it absolutely reeks. 15 points? So basically, if your favorite doesn't get the 15 bonus points, they are telling us we need to power vote to try to overcome that kind of spread. Doing this would seem reminiscent of the voting shenanigans that were pulled on Dancing with the Stars Season 11 for Bristol Palin. Yes, fans were able to trump Romeo's 6 point lead over Ralph last week, but now fans would have to more than double that to keep their favorite in. How can this be anything other than a call to power vote? Or, could it be a way of ensuring the show gets at least one couple in the finals that they want, or loses one couple they definitely don't want?
And yes, by all reports, the injured Kym Johnson is expected to participate in tonight’s show. Or at least, we haven’t seen anything to the contrary.
