The first Telugu film 'Bhakta Prahlada' directed and produced by HM Reddy on the banner of Krishna Films was released on September 15 in 1931.
The role of Hiranya Kashyap was played by Munipalli Subbayya, while Surabhi Kamalabai played his wife Leelavathi, and Krishna Rao essayed the role of Prahlada. L.V. Prasad played the role of Moddabbai in this movie.
