On the manufacturing side, nano-SIM cards have the great benefit of being small. Since they take up so little room, they are relatively easy to make and waste almost no materials. So, not only is the card smaller, but it will cost less to make, meaning it may soon cost less than other SIM cards.
Nano-SIM will almost assuredly change the SIM market. For example, look at SIM card only deals. As the service becomes more popular, carriers that offer this will be able to charge lower prices and better service. The nano-SIM card requires less material and works much better than other SIMs, meaning you can expect better SIM card only deals in the future.
The nano-SIM has the potential of really changing the SIM market. Due to its smaller size, better performance and lowered manufacturing costs, the nano-SIM will almost definitely become the industry standard as our mobile devices evolve.
