Jackie Evancho Delights on Britain's Got Talent; Will be Releasing New CD

Image
11 year old Jackie Evancho first wowed audiences last summer by singing opera on America's Got Talent. On Saturday night, she performed during the finale of Britain's Got Talent and sun "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's opera Turandot. Evancho was the runner-up in last year's America's Got Talent and had the opportunity to sing with soprano Sarah Brightman during the finale. After the show, she signed a recording contract with SYCO/Columbia Records. She released her debut CD in December 2010 - called "O Holy Night" - and it went platinum. Below is a video of Evancho performing - along with a choir - during the Britain's Got Talent finale. If you want to view it in better quality, click here to watch a different version on YouTube. Evancho will be releasing another CD on June 14, entitled "Dream With Me". If you happen to live in or around Pittsburgh, Evancho will actually be performing with the Pittsburgh Opera on October 16

River Song's Identity Revealed! What Does It Mean?

I wasn't looking to be spoiled, but it happened, and now I know who River Song is. That fact was revealed at the end of "A Good Man Goes to War," the mid-season finale of Doctor Who, which aired today in the U.K. Fans won't be getting that episode until next Saturday ("The Almost People" airs tonight on BBC America). That means from about this point on, American Who fans read at their own risk if they don't want to be spoiled for the show's biggest twist since Steven Moffat took over the reins last year. Ready? And now, the point of no return: River Song is the daughter of Amy Pond and Rory Williams. That really surprised some people; others had predicted it. I fall in the middle: that had been a theory of mine but I was surprised it actually came to fruition. So now that we know who River is -- oh, by the way, she's actually part Time Lord because she was conceived in the time vortex, probably due to Rory and Amy ignoring their bunk beds --

Hart of Dixie: New Extended Trailer

Rachel Bilson returns to TV this fall on The CW in the new show Hart of Dixie. Bilson stars as Zoe Hart, a driven medical student who has recently graduated and is set to do her residency. She seemingly has the perfect life: a gorgeous boyfriend and a plan to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But everything falls apart when her boyfriend breaks up with her and her boss tells her she didn't get the residency fellowship she was going for. She decides to accept a job offer from Dr. Harley Wilkes, a general practitioner from Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe packs up her life and moves to the small town, but learns that Harley has passed away before she arrived. She also learns that Harley left his half of the practice to her. Zoe decides to stay in Bluebell and try to make things work, but not everyone in town is happy about her arrival. The other doctor in town, Brick Breeland, and his daughter Lemon don't like Zoe. But she does make a few friends, including the mayor, a former foo

Ringer: New Extended Trailer

As a Buffy fan, I am psyched to have Sarah Michelle Gellar returned to episodic television. Granted, I would love to see her in Buffy Redux, but I'll settle for Ringer. Especially since it doesn't really look like we'll have to settle for anything with Ringer, because it looks like a great new show. After the CW's recent Upfront presentation will be airing in the fall on Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. Now The CW has released a three minute trailer, which gives us a lot more information about the new show. Gellar plays Bridget, a recent addict who gets clean and makes a deal with the feds: they'll drop drug-related charges against her if she agrees to testify about a murder she witnessed. Lost's Nestor Carbonell plays her FBI handler Agent Victor Machado. Bridget also reconnects with her estranged twin sister, Siobhan (with Gellar playing both roles). While Bridget had a lot of problems in life, Siobhan went on to marry rich (with Ioan Gruffudd playing her hus
