The Pirate Bay is down, it’s not just you

Image
We all find ourselves from time to time wondering if a particular corner of the Internet we were hoping to access is really down, or if it is just something on our side. Such is the case of Pirate Bay users the world over who can rest assured: it’s not just you. For whatever reason, The Pirate Bay is down from one side of the world to the other, and no one is sure why. Reportedly, most of the proxies aren’t responding either, although some are reporting being able to access certain ones still. Overall, however, The Pirate Bay is down across the globe, and thus far no one involved with TPB has provided any reasons for the downtime. Nevertheless, users need not fear – they haven’t had their access blocked or any other unfortunate individual-level changes. The folks over at Torrent Freak report that they’ve tried to get a reason from Pirate Bay administrators, but that thus far they haven’t been given any word on the matter, either. In all likelihood, everything will be back up and

Google requests permission to publish FISA requests in Transparency Report

In case you’ve somehow missed all the hoopla, the Internet has been in various states of uproar over PRISM and the allegations that several major companies give the government unrestricted access to their servers. Apple, Google, and others have been vocal about such statements, saying they are not true, but that has not stymied the uproar. One of the biggest issues causing problems is that companies are sworn to secrecy when they receive FISA requests. This legally mandated hush-hush environment helps fuel the speculation in the media and those who consume it, say

If you were wondering how it is that Nyko is bringing charger bases for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4‘s controllers – look no further. We had a quick chat with the folks at Nyko at E3 2013 this afternoon and got the quick once-over on how their unique technology works. Here well before the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 are out in the public, Nyko is hitting it hard with unique abilities for the wireless controllers that will define the next generation in console gaming. The Charge Base exists in two models coming out later this year – one for the Xbox One’s controllers, the other for the PlayStation 4′s controllers. While the Xbox One edition will be working with 2 rechargeable batteries, simple enough, the PlayStation 4 model gets a bit more complicated. The company’s PlayStation 4 controller charge base works with Nyko patented USB charging dongles. This system makes for a rather simple drop-and-charge setup for the PlayStation 4, while the NVIDIA SHIELD d
