Karan Johar reveals all on Ranbir Kapoor Aishwarya Rai Anushka Sharmas Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ever since Karan Johar announced that his next directorial outing, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, would comprise of a stellar cast headed by Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, there have been speculations galore on what the film is all about. Since the film is a love triangle, Ranbir and Anushka belong to the same age group, and Aishwarya is elder to both in real life, there was an instant assumption made that the film would be a remake of Yash Chopra's production Doosra Aadmi.

Reason being that Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor had featured in the said film with Raakhee and Neetu Singh.

Though Karan Johar kept quiet on the entire insinuation for last many months, he has had enough. He recently declared that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has absolutely nothing to do with Doosra Aadmi (even though he loves that film), and is instead an absolutely original film, just as has been the case with his last four directorial outings - Student Of The Year, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

He also said that rumors like these have accompanied him right through his career as whenever a high profile film is being put together, people love to form their own assumptions, most notably being Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna which - till its release - was expected to be Silsila revisited. Reason being that Abhishek Bachchan featured in the film and decades back, his father Amitabh Bachchan had led Silsila - a film on extra marital relationships - from the front.

When prodded further, Karan also said in his own characteristic humor that in current times, people somehow find it tough to believe that something original can actually be put together. Even though he is making an effort to tell an entirely different story in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, such rumors are part and parcel of a filmmaker's life and the best way out is to just carry on with one's work and let the final product do the talking.

Well Karan, as long as it is an entertaining film from you which indeed gives Ranbir, Ash and Anushka their right due, audience won't mind that at all.
