It looks like the end of Soyce (Ruzie?) is upon us,
Basketball Wives fans, as the "peacemaker" has joined in on the chaos and inadvertently shoved Royce to the role of "group outsider". Following a season where the tension between the two could barely be contained, I think Royce and Suzie have officially
switched roles in the
Basketball Wives universe, with Royce having one ally to hang onto (Tami) and Suzie nuzzling up to the warm bosom of the inner circle. My, my, my.
In a nutshell, I think Suzie's a punk. I think she talks all this stuff about how we should all get along and that the fighting is stupid, but when the "cool" kids are offering her the
last remaining seat the lunch table, she knocks over just about everybody to be able to see that she's "cool", too. It speaks obviously to her insecurity that she keeps going back to people who, just last season, were treating her horribly; it speaks obviously to her character that the second that things are squashed, she drops the one person who was there for her when nobody else was and skips her happy little butt all the way to Italy. I don't think Suzie's malicious or out to "get" anybody. I just think that she makes some pretty poor choices and this is one of 'em. It's not even that she didn't stick up for Royce when people were dogging her out and calling her "out"; it's that she not only fought for Meeka (?!) to come, but she told Royce in a really blunt, tactless manner.
I mean, at the polo match, Royce (and Tami) pretty much called Suzie's exodus to the dark side, but it still doesn't make it any more excusable.
Tami, on the other hand, may come off as blunt and tactless, but she proved herself to be a wonderful friend to Royce by sticking up for her at pretty much any opportunity. Say what you want about how she acts in public or how she treats someone who ends up on her
"feces roster", but she's by far the most loyal person on the show. If you're Tami's friend, she will incinerate anybody that tries to come for you, but once you cross over into the
danger zone, it's time to start ducking. She did something that I thought was pretty cool in that she's trying to expose Meeka as being the double-talking motormouth that she is. This will get someone that she obviously doesn't like out of the circle and inadvertently may clear a path for Royce to get a toehold back in with the group. I don't know how close anybody is away from the cameras, but watching Tami go to work to help her girl was sweet and you can tell they have a genuine respect for one another.
The thing is, I don't think Royce gives a damn about Evelyn, Shaunie, or Jennifer. I think she wants to be friends with Tami and Suzie and that's not looking very possible at the moment.
Things change quickly in the Basketball Wives world, so I'm not going to proclaim the "outer circle"as being dead, but it's on life support at the most right now. As much as Suzie seemingly goes out of her way to come off as the good guy and the voice of reason, she's starting to show her true colors and her desperation to be liked isn't pretty on her. I understand that since she was basically at the bottom of the food chain last season, she wants to avoid going back to that place, but sacrificing your friend for your own social standing is a bad move. Period. There's no way that Suzie's new found BFF-dom with Shaunie, Evelyn, and Jennifer can last, especially if Evelyn and Jennifer have a falling out next week like it seems will happen, so it'll be interesting to see just who accepts Suzie once she gets rejected from the inner circle again. Just wait.
Thoughts, Observations, & Quotes:
- "I don't need his ass lurking around the corner when I'm trying to walk into my apartment." Jennifer does not play when it comes to stalkers, y'all.
- Quote of the season nominee: "When it comes to dildos, I'm in preschool and Evelyn's graduated college cum laude."
- "You better get your Italian up..." That's what she said?
- "Actually, I may prefer female (strippers). Don't judge me." Jennifer may not be that talkative, but get her going and she brings the one liners.
- "You need somebody that has a lot more than you." I see Suzie shakin' her gold digger feather tonight.
- Royce's sarcastic talking heads are everything to me. When she was "celebrating" Suzie being invited to Italy, I was done.
- For all of Shaunie's talk about how Basketball Wives is a misunderstood show and how it's really a positive thing underneath all the drama, she did her fair share of pot stirring tonight concerning the trip to Italy. How are you going to be a grown woman and talk about if somebody's "in" or "out"?
- Where does Meeka get off pressing Royce about her love life? You're not friends and it really isn't any of Meeka's business who Royce is (or isn't) seeing. Suzie, okay, I can understand the concern, but Meeka? Please.
- What's up with all the huge earrings this season?
- A divorce party with goodie bags featuring penises inside and a trip to the Pleasure Emporium? This show...
- Royce complaining about mini golf was beyond stupid. If you're really feelin' somebody, you can have fun with them in an empty room, so the "mini golf is boring" excuse doesn't fly.
What do you think about Shaunie not inviting Royce to Italy? Do you think we've seen the last of Royce and Suzie as friends? Are Evelyn and Jennifer the next to "break up"?
