We're just over a week away from the return of Doctor Who series 6. If the long wait's been starting to get to you, worry not! We've got an absolutely fantastic set of promotional photos from the show's midseries premiere, "Let's Kill Hitler."
None of these photos actually feature Hitler, interestingly. Instead, they feature some pretty cryptic looking stuff. There are some robotic jellyfish things that are known as the "Antibodies." I have no idea how they're supposed to connect to the villain of the week, the Tesselecta -- probably because no one has really any idea what the Tesselecta is. The synopsis for the episode calls it the "greatest war criminal in the universe," even above Hitler.
It could be whatever's causing a light to shine from Amy's mouth and attack River Song (Alex Kingston), who is also seen in some promotional photos smooching the Doctor (Matt Smith).
What else happens in the episode? Well, according to the press release, "Old friendships are tested to their limits as the Doctor suffers the ultimate betrayal and learns a harsh lesson in the cruellest warfare of all. As precious time ebbs away, the Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities. And he must succeed before an almighty price is paid."
Sounds pretty heavy to me, Doc.
Doctor Who will return to the U.S. and the U.K. on August 27 with "Let's Kill Hitler."
