The past several years have seen a notable migration of respected film actors and actresses making the transition to television work. One could argue that it may be due to lack of meaty enough roles (especially for women) or it could be the TV schedule makes more sense for people at a certain point in their career, but the fact remains that TV has seen (or will see soon) the likes of Glenn Close, Dustin Hoffman, and Laura Linney procuring their own shows with no end in sight to the trend.
Another actress that may be heading to the small screen is Halle Berry,
according to Deadline. There's a project that has Berry attached to it where the Oscar winner will be playing a college professor. There's no word on any other names attached on any plot details at this time. It wouldn't be Berry's first venture into television, as she's participated in several well-regarded television movies (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Their Eyes Were Watching God) and miniseries' (Alex Haley's Queen) as well as one short-lived stint on Living Dolls, but if her project were to be picked up, it would be a great "get" for whatever channel airs it. The project is said to be eyed for a spot on a pay cable channel, so the likes of HBO and Showtime are in the running.
What do you think about the possibility of Halle Berry on a television series? Do you think you'd watch her show? Which channel do you think should pick it up? Which movie actor/actress do you think should be the next to take the leap to TV?
