‘Hannah Montana’ Canceled Or Just Wrapping Up, Will Air Final Episodes In Spring 2011

It’s Miley’s last stand as alter ego Hannah Montana as production on the fourth and final season of the Disney Channel franchise hit begins today. With Cyrus ready to move on to other projects, “Hannah Montana” will air its last episodes in spring 2011. Fourth season episodes begin airing in summer. Series hit all-time highs in total viewers in season three, which is set to conclude with a two-part cliffhanger episode “Miley Says Goodbye?” on March 7 and March 14

Could Conan and Joss Whedon Come to FX?

At today’s TCA session, FX Networks president John Landgraf said he would jump at the chance to get Conan O’Brien to host a late night show for FX “in a heartbeat” if Conan made himself available to basic cable. Landgraf also said he is scheduled to have lunch with Joss Whedon within the next few weeks to discuss future prospects. “I have enormous respect for him,” Landgraf said of Whedon.

Syndicated Crime Procedurals Shape Primetime Cable Line-ups

Anyone who looks at the weekly cable ratings knows what a beast syndicated reruns of NCIS are on USA Network. Multichannel news has a lengthy article on just how big of a deal the crime procedurals are, especially when it comes to shaping the lineups of certain cable networks: For USA, such shows account for 62% of the primetime programming schedule , while syndicated procedurals represent 34% of Spike TV’s programming lineup, according to the networks. Off-network procedurals comprised 33% of TNT’s 2009 schedule.
