Skype for Windows Phone coming soon says Microsoft

Image
There’s been a bit of a tip from no less that Microsoft’s own VP of products, Rick Osterloh, on what may very well be coming soon for their Windows Phone mobile platform: Skype! There are a select few applications out there that are so important that the very fact that they’re being released on a new system is newsworthy, and Skype is certainly one of them. Microsoft recently acquired Skype (this past October) and has not been vocal about if or when they’d be creating their own version for Windows Phone made to run like a whip for your video chats galore. It’s in an interview conducted this past week, Osterloh revealed that Microsoft is “working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon” in regards to Skype. The original promise for this combination of Windows Phone and video chat via SKype came back last year with Joe Belfiore, Director of Windows Phone, said the service would be coming in late 2011 to the platform. From what we’re hearing now, the real deal Skype appl

Will the Apple Television Have Any Room to Be Special?

If you were following the Consumer Electronics Show last week, you know that several TV makers showed off some of the most exciting technologies we’ve seen yet. LG offered up an ultra-thin OLED TV that, years ago, seemed at least a decade away. The company followed that up with the announcement of its first 4K resolution TV. If you haven’t heard of 4K resolution, it’s a technology that delivers — are you ready for this? — four times the resolution found in 1080p. But it wasn’t just LG. There were even the giant televisions on display for those who have large rooms and want to impress friends. Check our all the CES 2012 Smart TVs here All that has made me wonder: how will Apple, a company that is reportedly working on a new television to best them all, actually achieve its goal

This isn’t the only waterproof tablet to be shown off this week at CES 2012, the other being the Pantech Burst, which is said to be able to take a full minute of dunking without damage, but did prove itself to be much more hearty than that with a several-minute-dunk during its announcement at the AT&T developers keynote early in the week. What Fujitsu has here is that same waterproofing, but in a tablet that was revealed for sale in Japan several months ago. This tablet is not the thinnest in the world, nor is it the sleekest in any way, but it is light. And it does not feel fragile in the least bit, that’s for sure. It runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb out of the box, and is powered by a Tex
