Nadiadwala to hire private jets to transport Housefull prints to Europe

In the absence of commercial flights to European countries producer Sajid Nadiadwala has no option but to hire private jets to take the prints of his on-release summer comedy Housefull to England and other European countries. The volcanic ashes from Iceland has floated all the way to Bollywood...and nearly crashed into one the most mammoth summer release. Sajid Khan's multi-starrer Housefull which releases next Friday (April 30) is in delivery doldrums. As per release rules the delivery overseas has to be made a week in advance of the release day. Since most of the air traffic to Europe was still shut on Tuesday (with no sign of a partial let alone full recovery of flights for some days to come) Sajid Nadiadwala is in a state of panic. "This is most unforeseen," he said on Tuesday, stressed and sleepless running helter-skelter looking for non-airborne means of transporting prints of Housefull to Europe. Said the harrowed producer, "In all my years as

Abhishek and Aishwarya off to NY for wedding anniversary

Image
On this day, three years ago, there was an entire blitz of media surrounding Bachchan's bungalow in Juhu. The reason? It was on this very same day that Abhishek and Aishwarya tied the knot. Now three years later, the couple with much love intact have decided to disappear off to a location well hidden from the glitzy glare of the media and the prying eyes of public. Abhishek who has been vociferously tweeting his mind has apparently taken wifey dearest to New York as a celebration for their third anniversary. Confirming this is father dearest, Amitabh's blog post stating, "He is on a rather long flight right now, as we connect, to New York with Aishwarya. And of course I shall tell him all the reactions that came by for the first promo of his film 'Ravana'... !!" With his film, Ravaan , coming up for release and promos being aired, Abhishek definitely needs a break from his hectic schedule and who better than wife Aishwarya. You can wish Abhi

Bipasha Basu signed up as brand ambassador for Dabur Real ActivBipasha Basu signed up as brand ambassador for Dabur Real Activ

The very name of Bipasha Basu not just spells 'sexy', 'hot' and 'oomph', but also spells 'Sugar Free', 'Vi John Feather Touch', 'Gili', 'Fa', 'Aristocrat luggage'... to name a few. Well, now for a little homework. Simply pick up a pen and a paper and take down one more name. 'Dabur Real Activ' happens to be Bips' latest endorsement catch! In other words, Bipasha Basu has been signed up as the brand ambassador for Dabur Real Activ. These days, it looks like Bips is one actress who has gone all out to be a health and fitness freak. First, it was her workout DVD, then came the Sugar Free thingy, and now comes Dabur Real Activ. Any guesses as to who is having the last (healthy) laugh now?

Madhur Bhandarkar denies making film on IPL or Lalit Modi

Madhur Bhandarkar has slammed rumours making the rounds that he is going ahead and making a film on the life of Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi. Though these rumours had started close to six months back (around the release of Jail ), they had died their natural death with the filmmaker coming up with an instant denial. However, now with more spice added to the entire affair courtesy the current situation that Modi and ex-Minister Shashi Tharoor have found themselves in, there was a buzz in the industry (yet again) that Bhandarkar may well begin work on the script and revive the film shortly. Says a well placed industry source who has been closely following the progress of the entire episode surrounding the film (which supposedly also carries the title The Commissioner ), "At one point in time, this film was a definite possibility since Lalit Modi was already in talks with Shailendra Singh from Percept. In fact Singh had also suggested the name of

Hrithik and Barbara shooting in Maldives today

Barbara Mori who quietly arrived in Mumbai on Monday morning left on Tuesday morning with Hrithik Roshan to shoot an ad campaign for Provogue. The Roshans wish to keep her visit to a city that the Mexican actress now knows so well, as low-key as possible until she returns from the Maldives on April 22 for a series of press interactions in Mumbai. Hrithik wrapped up the final few days of his shooting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Guzaarish before Barbara's arrival. Both Hrithik and his wife Sussanne gladly played Barbara's host on her arrival on Monday. Speaking on her current visit to India, Rakesh Roshan said, "We don't want to create any unnecessary hype about her presence. But we do want to make it clear that we didn't sign Barbara for Kites because we needed any Caucasian girl. Barbara is not just a pretty girl. She is an amazing actress. You have to see her in Cosas Insignificantes where she had shaved off her hair. She is an outstanding dra

Is Microsoft Docs really a 'Google Docs killer' and four other questions (and answers)

Microsoft unveiled today a beta version of Microsoft Docs , its Office Web Apps technology tailored for the Facebook platform at the Facebook f8 conference on April 21. The announcement spurred a lot of questions — by me and others. Here are five questions I asked Microsoft about today’s announcement, and five answers I received via a corporate spokesperson. Q: I see folks calling this a ‘Google Docs killer.’ To me, this is not that at all. Microsoft’s position? A : The name expresses the value of the service – the ability for individuals to discover, create and share Microsoft Office “documents” (e.g. “docs”) that they’re already familiar with on Facebook. It’s Docs…for Facebook. Using Office, a Facebook user can easily create, view and share documents with friends and family regardless of whether they have the Office desktop software loaded on their machine. Those documents will always have the polish and finish of Office as they move easily from the cloud to the deskt

Defective McAfee update causes worldwide meltdown of XP PCs

At 6AM today, McAfee released an update to its antivirus definitions for corporate customers that had a slight problem. And by “slight problem,” I mean the kind that renders a PC useless until tech support shows up to repair the damage manually. I’m not sure any virus writer has ever developed a piece of malware that shut down as many machines as quickly as McAfee did today. Here’s how the SANS Internet Storm Center describes the screw-up: McAfee’s “DAT” file version 5958 is causing widespread problems with Windows XP SP3. The affected systems will enter a reboot loop and [lose] all network access. We have individual reports of other versions of Windows being affected as well. However, only particular configurations of these versions appear affected. The bad DAT file may infect individual workstations as well as workstations connected to a domain. The use of “ePolicyOrchestrator”, which is used to update virus definitions across a network, appears to have [led] to a fa
