Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey: Season 8 Will Be His Last

Image
The long-running ABC show Grey's Anatomy will be entering its eighth season in the fall, but one of its stars is already looking to the future. According to TV Line , Patrick Dempsey, who plays Derek (a.k.a. McDreamy), has told Italian Vanity Fair Magazine that he will be departing after season 8. “It’s gonna be my last,” he told the magazine. “I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done.” This might not be surprising for a lot of viewers. Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is actually expecting this news. In fact, she's already told TV Line that other original cast members, including Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh and Justin Chambers, could very well leave after season 8 is finished. Rhimes is prepared that some or all of these cast members could be entering their final season and is prepared to set up storylines accordingly. The question is how fans will respond when Dempsey leaves (and if the others leave as wel

George Lucas Reveals Why There's No Live-Action Star Wars TV Series... Yet

Image
When Star Wars first came to television with the Genndy Tartakovsky-animated Clone Wars, I was eight or nine, and I loved it. Sure, it didn't quite capture the magic of the film series for me, but it was a well-animated series with my favorite characters (Yoda! Kit Fisto!) and a lot of big things blowing up. Now we've got The Clone Wars, the three-dimensionally animated series that still features our favorite characters. It came a little after my love for Star Wars faded, so I haven't seen it. However, if the long-rumored live-action series ever came to the small screen, you can bet that I'd be right there every step of the way. George Lucas told G4's Attack of the Show that he has fifty hours of scripts for the show already -- but it's still on hold. Sure, he's got more than two seasons of material written. But there's another hold-up. Much like James Cameron had to build the technology to film Avatar, Lucas is looking for his own technology to film

Where Is Peter Now? Here's One Theory Fringe Producers Find Pretty Crazy!

Image
If you watch Fringe, I don't really have to tell you just how much of a punch in the face the season finale, "The Day We Died," was to fans. The final scene was so shocking and unexpected that I'm still having trouble determining the ramifications for the fourth season. Not since the season three finale of LOST have I felt so utterly flabbergasted -- and I love it. But what exactly is going on with the Fringe team? We saw at the end of "The Day We Died" something happened that may have never happened on any show before. One of the main characters suddenly never existed. While I ran to my DVD collection and made sure Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) was still in season one (he was), other fans started concocting theories. And some of them are pretty good. As in, I believe that they could happen on the show, without a doubt. For instance, like the one that postulates that Peter is now an Observer. Those bald fellows, most commonly represented by September (Mic

The TNT hit series, Leverage, will be returning for its fourth season on Sunday, June 29 at 9:00 p.m. Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge are all returning as the group of thieves for ten all new episodes in season 4. Season 4 of Leverage will open with the team heading to the Alaskan mountains. While there, they'll try to help a woman whose husband has disappeared. They'll also get to experience the harsh terrain of Alaska. You may remember that prior to taking on this job, the team was actually laying low after Nate was blackmailed by an Italian agent who wanted him to find a nefarious financier, which they did. Nate's more determined than ever to hunt down the bad guys, but he's very reluctant to deal with the situation between him and Sophie after they slept together. According to TNT, season 4 of Leverage will have the team facing their biggest challenges yet. Nate will continue to struggle internally and they'

Doctor Who: Daleks Won't Be Seen for a While

Image
The Daleks are going into retirement. At least for a little while. Doctor Who's most recognizable villains, the Daleks, first appeared on the hit BBC show back in December 1963. They were created by Doctor Who writer Terry Nation and designed by BBC designer Raymond Cusick. They've enjoyed long-running success and have appeared in several Doctor Who serials, as well as two 1960s moves. Now a part of British popular culture, they've appeared on a postage stamp in 1999 and were selected by readers of SFX in 2010 as the all-time greatest monster (beating out Godzilla and Lord of the Rings' Gollum). Now showrunner and writer Steven Moffat has told the British and TV listings magazine Radio Times that the Daleks are going to take a break from Doctor Who. “They aren’t going to make an appearance for a while,” said Moffat. “We thought it was about time to give them a rest.” Moffat joked that the Doctor has defeated the Daleks "around 400 times", which actua

Now that the Fall season is over you are probably wondering what your favorite stars are up to during the summer, right? Well, Stana Katic, who plays lead Detective Beckett in ABC's hit show Castle, headed over to Europe this past weekend to attend Zlin International Film Festival in Czech Republic as a member of the jury. Her latest movie, For Lovers Only, also had its World Premiere at the Festival. A Polish Brothers feature film, For Lovers Only was shot last summer in Europe. It tells the story of a man and a woman "being" in love. They meet again after not seeing each other for 8 years while on separate work assignments in Paris. The lovers flee together and travel by train, car and motorcycle across France from Normandy to St. Tropez. Throughout their trip, both characters experience carefree bliss and unrepentant joy punctuated by moments of guilt and confusion. The final outcome of the affair is about the highest form of love - sacrifice. Katic has recently f
