Our Studio was my fathers dream project - Suneil Anand

Image
Suneil Anand is very happy with the way his legendary father Dev Anand's fans and friends responded to his 89th birthday. "We had an afternoon tea party in Dad's memory. That stretched on to the whole evening. Finally a group of us close friends ended up at dinner. So we were celebrating till the wee hours," said the groggy Anand on the morning after Dev Saab's birthday.  The proud and possessive son has future plans of making a docu-film on his great father's incredibly long career as a matinee idol.  And in order to ensure no one else jumps into the arena of a visual homage, Suneil has registered a number of titles for the purported documentary.  Confirming these plans, Suneil says, "Yes, the film is something I will do. We've already registered various titles with the necessary associations, one of them being  The Legendary Dev Anand . To my mind he was a true legend."  While details about the film's format are being worked out, Suneil i

Lata - Rafi They completed each other

Image
Never mind the media-hyped bad blood that has been created between Lata and Rafi's family a few days ago. Never mind also that whenever Lata Mangeshkar (who turns 83 today on September 28) and Mohammed Rafi sang separate versions of the same song (ungrammatically and mistakenly branded as 'tandems', which actually means singing  together ), it was invariably the Rafi version that connected or endured more.  Their 440 duets and multi-singer songs ( this is the released albums figure, and at a guess there must be at least 50 more recorded but unreleased for reasons like the shelving of a film ) are testimony that when both the undisputed Numero Unos in their respective fields came together, it was to add up to a musical  ek aur ek gyarah .  For better or for version And yes, there is little doubt that Lata's versions of songs as varied as ' Jiya O Jiya O Jiya Kuch Bol Do ' ( Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai ), ' Aaj Kal Mein Dhal Gaya ' ( Beti Bete ), ' Tum

OMG Oh My God the film is spicier than the play - Paresh Rawal

Image
It's not easy tracking down Paresh Rawal for an interview. The man doesn't really believe in tom-toming about his work and would rather let his work do all the talking. However, this Friday (September 28), it's raining Rawal at the B.O. as the veteran actor is seen in not one but two big releases-  OMG! Oh My God  and  Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal . Usually one to shy away from interviews, he is making an exception for his latest film OMG! Oh My God  as it's a project very close to his heart. The film not only features him as the main protagonist but he has also co-produced the film with Akshay Kumar. Rawal has already done over 500 shows of the play 'Kanji Viruddh Kanji' (Gujarati) and over 150 shows of 'Kishen vs Kanhaiya' (Hindi) - on which  OMG! Oh My God  is based and is now confident that like the play, the film too will find an audience.  Bollywood Hungama 's Nikhil Ramsubramaniam managed to chat up with the supremely talented actor Paresh Rawal

Ajay teaches Sonakshi how to ride bike

Image
With Devgn riding horses and Sanju Baba showing his bravura personality by driving powerful jeeps in their forthcoming Diwali blockbuster,  Son Of Sardaar , how could the leading lady of the film Sonakshi be far behind. Portraying a true Sardarni look, Sonakshi held her breath and balanced herself perfectly on the two wheels to perform some heart stopping adrenaline pumped stunts on a motor bike for this action comedy dhamaka. Buzz is that the actress was a little apprehensive when she was told that her first entry scene would be on a bike and she also had to do some gallant antics on the mean machine. We hear that Sona decided to take the challenge head on with guidance from her action maestro and co-star Ajay Devgn. A source close to the team said, "Sonakshi has never driven a bike before so she was quite anxious about riding and performing stunts on the bike so Ajay helped her to ride the bike. She practiced it several times and then when she performed the sequence for the fi
