Ayushmann has got reputation as a singer - Rohan Sippy

Image
Director Rohan Sippy is keeping busy these days working on the song that will be sung by Ayushmann Khurrana in his upcoming film  Nautanki Saala . Though it's confirmed that Ayushmann will be singing for the film, the makers haven't taken the final call and the song is yet to be finalized. Says Rohan Sippy, "We are working on two three ideas for Ayushmann's song. One we have already brought in to the studio which has turned out very nicely. It's going to be like a laboratory where we will be working and experimenting with different ideas. So, now even if one has worked out well, we may go for another idea too. Hopefully that too comes out well." Further adds Rohan, "But definitely we will do one song with him. It will be quite well I am sure. He has already got a reputation and a track record as a singer. So, there is a little bit of pressure to keep the standards up and make sure that that this one will be much better than the last one." Currently,

Huma Qureshis hot new avatar on FHM

Image
If you saw  Gangs Of Wasseypur 2  and wished to see more of the hot actress in the film (pun intended), then this month's FHM has fulfilled that wish for you. In this issue, Huma talks about all the possible things under the sun. Be it her debut in Bollywood or her love for the Aviators, she bares her heart out. In the same breath, she also confesses that she loves the Ramsay Brothers' horror flicks: the rotating heads, the glass eye, and the  chudail's ulta  feet  et al ! The very moment one mentions about cinema, she rattles off stating, "I can do a retrospective- I love cinema gore." Recalling one of her days in college, she says, "The cheesiest things I have ever been told was outside my college. Someone walked up to me and said, 'Jab se aapko dekha hai, merit toh thinking hi change hoi gayee hai". We are yet to figure out what that guy really meant! As of now, all that we mean to say is that with films like  Ek Thi Daayan  and  Luv Shuv Te

I am free-spirited - Ileana DCruz

Image
It took only the trailer of her upcoming film  Barfi!  To make the industry sit up and take notice of Ileana D’cruz. Here’s how she managed to do just that! Launch Vehicle My character’s name is Shruti and she plays the role of a Bengali girl in  Barfi!  . Honestly, I can’t reveal much about what I am doing in the film or I’ll give away the plot, but all I can say is that Shruti’s character is a blend of everything. She is a headstrong girl and yet, very emotional. There is an aura of innocence about her. In her quest to explore the world, she goes through a life-changing event, which changes her perspective about love and relationships.  Casting Coup  The casting process for  Barfi!  was very simple. It wasn’t anything like what I had imagined it to be, because casting in a Hindi film is a very strenuous process. I thought there would be a number of screen tests and auditions but in reality, I didn’t have to give any. My agent told me that director Anurag Basu was looking out for some

Salman rocks the stage for pal Preity Zinta

Image
That Salman Khan is a  yaaron ka yaar  and would go that extra mile for a friend, is well known. That he makes a cameo appearance in pal Preity Zinta's film  Ishkq In Paris  is also well-known. What is not known is that Salman not only plays himself, that is Salman Khan, in Preity's Parisian production, he also gives a live stage performance in Paris, singing in front of a 5,000-strong shrieking, cheering fans in Paris as he croons the Punjabi-Bhangra number ' Kudiye Di Kurti '. What's more, plans are now afoot to take Salman to Paris during the film's premiere for him to perform the song live on stage. Confirming Salman's presence, director Prem Raj says, "Salman plays himself in  Ishkq In Paris . He is the rocking superstar who visits Paris for a rocking stage performance to the beats of the song ' Kudiye Di Kurti '. We couldn't think of anyone to perform the song. We've clearly said it's Salman rocking on stage." And now

Priyanka Chopra to rescue after Parineeta sprained her ankle

Image
Not that she was ever unpopular. But Priyanka Chopra is making a huge effort to appease her enemies in Bollywood. While wooing Salman Khan and his entire family, and that includes Helen Aunty, Priyanka is now making all efforts to be in Karan Johar's good books. On Monday night at Shabana Azmi's  Mijwan Sonnets In Fabric 2012  fashion show at the Grand Hyatt which was nearly wash-out before the stars descended on the crowds and decided to eclipse the clouds, Priyanka hung around with Karan Johar non-stop. Priyanka is also actively supporting her cousin Parineeti Chopra. Apparently, the younger Chopra star sprained her ankle just minutes before she was to walk the ramp.  Says the source, "Parineeti somehow went through the act, and then collapsed backstage. Priyanka rushed with Karan Johar to her side, attended to her ankle made sure she was comfortable. It was an amazing visual of sisterly concern."  To cheer the ramp walkers there was Shabana's buddy Urmila Maton

When Vivek Oberoi hated retakes

Image
Very recently, Vivek Oberoi was almost raped and he wanted to get over the trauma really fast. Well, hold on to your imagination because that happened for his film  Kismat Love Paisa Dilli  where his character went through the unfortunate incident and so shaken up was Vivek that he requested his director Sanjay Khanduri to can the scene in a jiffy and move on to the next scene. "Generally Vivek is extremely chilled out in the most difficult of the scenes and doesn't really fuss around various retakes. However for this particular sequence, he just couldn't take it. No pun intended", quips a source from the film's unit. Apparently, this is a fun scene in this comic affair where a gay designer encounters Vivek and what unfolds from that point in leads to a hilarious sequence of events. With Vivek being all tied up and gagged, it was a physically excruciating experience as well. "Vivek was all sport when the scene was conceptualized. However during execution whe

Farhan goes to Ladakh for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Image
Farhan Akhtar has left for Ladakh for the shoot of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's  Bhaag Milkha Bhaag . The second schedule of the film will last for 25 days. Farhan has a close association with Ladakh as many years ago he had shot his second directorial venture  Lakshya  in the picturesque locales of Ladakh. The actor-director tweeted, "Leaving for BMB second sched. To the heavenly location called Ladakh. Mind racing back to time spent there 10 years ago, filming Lakshya." The actor later added, "Ladakh makes you realise how unbearable the sound of a car horn truly is." Bhaag Milkha Bhaag  has Farhan playing the role of legendary athlete Milkha Singh. The actor has been working really hard to get into character and develop a well-toned and athletic physique. Says a source close to the film, "Farhan had to really take care of his regimen even during his break. He gives it his 100 per cent when he's shooting for a film and disconnects himself completely from

I hope in the long run Barfi too garners 100 crores - Ranbir Kapoor

Image
It all started one evening, a few days ago when Ranbir Kapoor was in London. We had a quick chat over the phone that went like this - ME: "Hey Ranbir, can we do the interview now over the phone?" RANBIR: "Hey buddy, why don't we meet and do it. We can spend an hour talking about  Barfi  and more. Text me in couple of days and we'll take it from there". Ok, so what did just happen? I question myself, pause and ponder and in exactly two and a half minutes jump in excitement. Two Days Later - ME (text message): 'Hey Ranbir, let me know when and where are we catching up'. RANBIR: "Why don't you come to Film City. I'm here till 8.30pm and we can drive down to my house from here". Ok, so what happened now? In the next one hour - Shower, Shampoo, Trim, Shorts, Belt, Tee, Eau De Toilette....and I see myself at an arm's length away from the green screen, in front of which Ranbir Kapoor was so effortlessly being Barfi for his movie's

Sridevi and Mehdi Nebbou got along like a house on fire

Image
Sridevi's co-star the French actor Mehdi Nebbou has apparently become a big Sri fan after working with her. And we aren't talking about just being her fan as an actress. Apparently, Mehdi found her reticence and quietude very charming. Says R Balki, the producer of their film  English Vinglish , "It was a really curious contradiction. On screen, Sridevi was playing a very talkative woman. But once the camera was off she was very reserved to begin with. But gradually as we shot in New York, she opened up and began to mingle with all of us." Apparently, Mehdi taught Sridevi some French in exchange of a smattering of Tamil that she taught him. Quite in character, considering they play two unlikely companions from different parts of the world who come together in the US to learn the English language. Says Balki, "It's really strange. But we don't value Hindi as much as we do English. Sridevi plays a victim of that snobbery. Her own husband, played by Adil Hu

Madhuri begins prepping for Gulab Gang

Image
Her comeback film  Aaja Nachle  sank without a trace, but that hasn't deterred Madhuri Dixit Nene who is now looking forward to yet another new innings in B-town with films like  Gulab Gang  and  Dedh Ishqiya . Gulab Gang  is about a gang of women fighting social injustice in the heartland of India where Madhuri plays the gang leader. Madhuri posted her picture during the film's costume sitting session and tweeted, "Reviewing the costumes and schedule for Gulab Gang with Soumik Sen yesterday." Alia Bhatt graces the cover of Vogue

Image
If you have seen the promos of Karan Johar's next film  Student Of The Year , then definitely you must not have missed the spark who goes by the name of Alia Bhatt. Alia who is making her Bollywood debut this year, also features as the cover girl of the latest issue of Vogue. Even before the world can go gaga over this lissome beauty, we get you the raw quotes from those who made this angel come alive for Vogue. Ace makeup artist Mickey Contractor says, "There's a rawness to her that I haven't seen since Kajol". In this issue, Alia speaks about her being a 'star-daughter' (she is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan and the half-sister of Pooja Bhatt). She adds that, "I am working as hard as I can. There are people who don't come from the film industry who give it a hundred per cent, so why should it be any different for me? I never wanted to star in my father's productions because that would have been too easy. Even now, if I don&
