Flirt Imran Imitates Akshay?

Image
Imran Khan's a super flirt? Yeah, if you heed Punit Malhotra, director of 'I Hate Luv Storys', who jokingly states in a tabloid chat, "My hero Jay Dingra is a compulsive flirt and I think it was easy for Imran to play him… since he was playing himself! My character is not based on any single actor." Khan, however, asserts that he's modelled his cine Casanova along the lines of… Akshay Kumar ! "I was very confused as to how I could play Jay, a suave and confident Romeo who has a way with ladies," confesses Khan in a news quote. "I decided to base it on Akshay. I've met him twice, he's known to be a ladies man and is very cool and chilled out." Flattered or flustered, Akki?

Akki's Sole Cyber Pal… Sallu!

Image
The renowned face on Facebook posted his blogs on a website and was initiated into Twitter by his spouse Twinkle. Though, unlike other B town folks, Akshay Kumar prefers to keep a lowwwwww profile… and only tweets newsy tidbits to his abiding admirers. A recent sample from Akki, currently canning scenes in Canada for Anees Bazmee 's 'Thank You', states, "Who says being an actor is a cakewalk? Shooting an action sequence in downtown Vancouver in less than 2 degrees." Akki's made one startling exception, though. Among the cine fraternity, Action Kumar has identified the star he has no qualms tweeting to. Salman Khan ! The duo shared screen space in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and matters were hunky dory for a while… although they did have some starry differences later. Apparently, all that is a matter of the past, as Akki did walk the ramp for Sallu's 'Being Human' at a reputed fashion week. The Akki Sallu bond now seems to be fort

Shahid's Intimacy Irks Female Fans!

Image
Intimacy is out? For Shahid Kapoor . And onscreen, that is. The slick promos of 'Badmaash Company' have barely unspooled and Shasha is already being inundated with SMSs, emails, calls and letters… all from young female fans. And guess what, they're all in super sulk mode! Reason: most couldn't stomach the idea of SK getting all lovey dovey on celluloid with a saucy Anushka Sharma. Apparently, one of the shots has him making love to Sharma!! Enough to get their collective goats… The spate of responses that followed have a common thread. The irked femmes have all requested SK not to swerve into carnal mode with any of his leading ladies. The female attention that SK bags from his young loyalists outrivals that of most others. In Bangkok, a posse of female Shasha patrons had the actor take off his shirt… as they wanted to see him bare chested. And whaddya know, super SK obliged them, as much. Guess, he was simply making a clean breast of things..

Kareena Bites Twitter Bait!

Image
Tweeting folks can rejoice now! One more starry celeb zooms into the micro blogging site. Kareena Kapoor . Earlier, Bebo was battling with the classic question: To tweet or not to tweet. Presently, good sense seems to have prevailed. With the launch of her official fan page on twitter (@clubkareena) and Facebook (clubkareena kapoor), Kareena loyalists can look forward to her latest screen pics, updates and ads. Her spokesperson told an eager media, "Kareena will not be on Facebook everyday, nor will she be tweeting on a daily basis. But she will definitely communicate at least once in two weeks as and when she gets the time off from her professional assignments." Merry tweeting, Bebo…

Bhansali's Moni Matters…

Image
Models are mollycoddled beings who can't possibly do without their daily dose of pampering. And some don't have any qualms about demanding it… and flashing some supercilious attitude too! Case in point: Monikangana Dutta, the new find of Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's 'Guzaarish'. Reportedly, unit hands, production members and assistant directors, in addition to Bhansali himself, have had their fill of Moni's high handedness!! As per insiders, a rankled Bhansali, pleased at having wrapped up the filming of his emotional opus, isn't exactly beaming over his protégé's behavior. The temperamental director, who'd maintained his cool until recently, vented his spleen by reportedly ousting Moni from a song number that he had intended to shoot with her in 'Guzaarish'. Moni's sulking. Others grinning.

Mirren, Brand re-team for 'Arthur' remake

Dame Helen Mirren is re-teaming with British funnyman Russell Brand for the upcoming remake of 1981 hit comedy 'Arthur'. The veteran actress, who has filmed an upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' with Brand, will take on the role of Hobson, a valet who gives advice to the beloved boozy socialite, reports EmpireOnline.com. Sir John Gielgud won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Hobson in the original. Meryl Streep was tipped as the front runner after producers announced plans to cast a female actress in the role.

Seyfried confident Lohan will return to form

Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried is hopeful her 'Mean Girls' co-star Lindsay Lohan can sort out her personal problems, insisting the troubled actress will eventually 'fall back in line'. Seyfried made her movie debut when she starred as Lohan's high school friend in the 2004 comedy and she has since become a Hollywood leading lady with parts in box office hits like 'Mamma Mia!' and 'Dear John', reports hollywood.com. Meanwhile Lohan, who has endured a string of legal problems and stints in rehab, went on to appear in a string of critically-panned films, including 2007s 'Georgia Rule' and thriller 'I Know Who Killed Me'. But Seyfried is confident her former co-star will one day make a career comeback. 'I think it's just growth. People can fall out of line and fall back into it. I think it just takes some time. Clearly, people go through things and they deal with them differently. You've just go

Dil Se… Mani Ratnam

Image
An inspiration for many aspiring film makers and a source of creativity to growing film directors, Mani Ratnam is an epitome of quality Indian cinema. With directors like Satyajit Ray, Shekar Kapur making a league of their own, there’s one man from the south of India who’s created a league for himself. Mani Ratnam has captured the hearts of many. Be it an intense interaction between the antagonist and the protagonist or a romantic scene with the hero wooing the heroine, Mani Ratnam has handled his script in such a way that more than the hero receiving importance, his story does! Talking about emotions and directing them, remind yourself about ‘Roja’, a movie that deals with the plight of newly married when they’re separated by militants. The entire essence of that emotion was captured in one song composed by then debutant A R Rahman, ‘Roja Janemann’ in the ever magnificent voice of S.P Balasubramanyam, when the handsome Arvind Samy is kidnapped by militants

Vidya-Rani starrer gets new name

Image
Based on the infamous Jessica Lall murder case, ‘No One Killed Jessica’ brings two of the versatile actresses Rani Mukherji and Vidya Balan together on one screen. While Rani Mukherji plays the role of a journo, Vidya dons the character of Jessica’s sister Sabrina Lall who strongly fought for justice. The film is currently being shot in Delhi. Director Rajkumar Gupta who is keen to give the film a realistic look, is shooting in the backdrops of real locations like hospitals and trauma centre, instead of using sets. The film has five songs, out of which four are already said to have been composed, by Amit Trivedi. Of late our birdies have brought in this buzz that the film has been renamed as ‘System’. However, the confirmation is yet to come from the director.

Image
This is one of the most anticipated music albums in recent times. The music of ‘Raavan’ is out today and Raaga has it for you. ‘Cheeyan’ Vikram who is also part of the Hindi version is in Mumbai for the launch. Audio trackers have already said this is going to be the album of the year. With the deadly duo of A R Rahman- Mani Ratnam at the helm what more one could ask for? Remember this trio never failed since their first film ‘Roja’ in 1992. All songs of ‘Raavan’ have a feel of the soil and they appeal to all the senses. The Tamil and Telugu versions will be released soon. The much deservedly hyped movie will hit the screens in all three versions simultaneously on June 18. Listen to the album of the year only on Raaga.com

Tabu to bounce back with ‘White’

Image
You can’t ignore talent for long. Agreed that her previous ‘Toh Baat Pakki’ didn’t receive much attention but the talented Tabu is goanna bounce back with a hard-hitting film on women’s sexuality. Sounds like ‘Astitva’... Tabu will be starring in Mahesh Manjrekar’s ‘White’ which is the story of an Indian middleclass woman who defies every norm of society. Manjrekar says, “‘White’ takes the story of the Indian middle class wife, her desires and ambitions much deeper than Astitva. It is a bolder look at the feelings, dreams and nightmares of an Indian housewife than anything attempted on screen till today.” All the Best Tabu!

Bips & Sameera’s ‘Dhamaal’ act

Image
The sequel to Inder Kumar ‘Dhamaal’ has a delicious mouth watering recipe. The Bong sensation Bipasha Basu and the south Indian hot tadka Sameera Reddy are ready to add their flavor to the sequel of Inder Kumar’s hit comedy ‘Dhamaal’ which didn’t had a member from the fair skin club. Previously it was announced that the sequel will also follow the same trend and will not have any female actress but suddenly the makers changed their behind and roped in the two hot B-town lovelies giving the hawala of script demand. For how long can a film shooting be away from heroines… come on? Sources reveal that the actors wanted some female co-stars for motivation. ‘Dhamaal’ starred Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Javed Jaffery and Ashish Chowdhary.

Akki-Ash to do lock & key act

Image
Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’ is a film that’s going to replay the old acts and lives, through Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai. The film, which is based on a time machine saga, includes a song that gives tribute to seventies’ on-screen romantic couples. While planning the song the director thought of jodis like Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bhaduri, Dharmendra-Hema Malini and Rajesh Khanna-Mumtaz. But he somehow missed out the ‘Bobby’ pair Rishi Kapoor-Dimple Kapadia, who created sensation then. So now it seems Shah is serious to include the jodi in the song and seriously working out an alternative. Sources reveal that the filmmaker is planning to insert the lyric of the song “Hum tum ek kamre mein band ho” from ‘Bobby’. And for that Shah is trying to get permission to shoot the song in Gulmarg where the song was shot in the 70s – something which the director is excitedly looking forward to shoot. Aha now that would be really interesting to watch na… but will Akshay and Ash able

Katrina says ‘No’ to 3 Idiots Tamil remake

Image
As we mentioned earlier that ‘3 Idiots’ will have its Tamil version, further on that Gemini Film Circuit now owns the copyrights to make '3 Idiots' in Tamil and Telugu. While actor Vijay has already been roped in to play the lead role, however the makers are still to find a replacement for Kareena. The rumour mills are hot with reports of Katrina being approached but she backed off due to date problems. Watch this space for more to know who will be approached next.

SRK, what’s wrong?

Image
Things are not happening as per the expectations of The Baadshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan. He is losing friends one by one. First he had a spat with Salman who was his close buddy now his arch rival, then his friend Farah dumped him and signed his enemy number one Akshay who at any given time makes sure that he makes dig at SRK and now we hear that Shahrukh and Ritesh Deshmukh are not in talking terms. It all started with the casting of SRK home production ‘Ra.1’, Ritesh was the first choice to play the villain in the film but finally SRK opted for his close pal Arjun Rampal instead of Ritesh. This has hurt Ritesh and now SRK and Ritesh don’t even talk with each other. SRK is known for lending support for his friends but this particular incident the Badshah was in dharma sankat (dilemma) as both Ritesh and Arjun are his buddies. Anyhow, SRK sudden shift towards Arjun might have some luck factor involved as industry believes in superstition. Everybody knows that in S

Bhansali ko gussa jab aata hai

Image
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is passionate about his work and he has the habit of losing his cool when things don’t move according to his directions and plan. But this time it was for good. We mean Bhansali ki khoj Monikangana Dutta who is getting introduced in his film started believing that she is some Madhuri Dixit and Bhansali’s unit members complained of high handed behavior of her. Bhansali got angry and thought of teaching her a lesson; he chopped her role in the film. Hmmmmmm, cutting to size we say.

Arbaaz’s Plan B for Dabangg

Image
Arbaaz Khan is producing 'Dabangg' for brother Salman Khan and if that’s not news, read this - Eyjafjallajokull volcano has spoilt his plans. The original plan (plan A) of Arbaaz and his 'Dabangg' team was to shoot a romantic song in Switzerland but the Eyjafjallajokull volcano (not a tongue twister but a name of the volcano) spoilt their plans. With hot eruptions and clouds filled with ashes, Europe is relatively closed to the world. With passengers stranded in most airports in Europe, the Dabangg team unfortunately could not proceed as per plan to shoot the romantic song featuring Salman and heroine Sonakshi Sinha. So the film’s unit is flying to Dubai as plan B. Apparently the makers of the movie didn’t want waste Salman Khan’s dates. The entire Dubai trip is planned and sources say everything is being carried out as per plan. Moral of the story – Always have plan B.

Shahrukh to stand in Hong Kong

Image
He’s standing there for sure. Not him but his wax statue that was made by Madame Tussauds, London in 2007. On a loan from London, Madame Tussauds at Hong Kong will display Bollywood’s superstar Shahrukh Khan’s wax statue for three months. He will be standing there with Hollywood celebs like Harrisson Ford, Johnny Depp and Jackie Chan. With a lot of Indian tourists traveling to Hong Kong, the world famous wax gallery wanted to include SRK’s statue to receive attention. Indian celebrities are not new to Madame Tussauds, Big B has already stood there. We mean his statue!

Fruits and yoghurt are a big part of my diet. And I end every session with a few minutes of uninterrupted meditation.” So why isn’t Shazahn following the gym bandwagon? Answers Shazahn, “To me the mind is equally important as the body.” Hmm, point taken Miss… Currently the beauty is working on two south projects – one in Tamil and another in Telugu…

Raavan Music Review

Image
EXPECTATIONS Expectations? Now either one can come up with 50 statements detailing the expectations that one has from the music of this film which brings together Mani Rathnam, A.R. Rahman, Gulzar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Or instead, one can just state that it would be nothing less than sacrilege for this team to present listeners with something which is less than being excellent. The choice, it at all there ever was, is non-existent. So without much ado, let's play on one of the most anticipated albums of the year and check out what this elite team has to offer. Music It's a folksy-tribal beginning to ' Beera Beera ' which appears to be the introduction song of the character played by Abhishek Bachchan Raavan . In a routine scenario a song belonging to this genre would have immediately fallen into Sukhwinder Singh's lap. However, expect Rahman to do something different in each of his outings as he instead ropes in Kirti Sagathi
