Last night on BBC America, audiences were treated to the first episode of the British miniseries import The Wire, a show that, despite some flaws, was actually quite good. The six episode series wraps up next week in the U.K., but for Americans the show will likely run until September 21. According to Amazon.com, The Hour is slated for a September 27, the Tuesday following the Wednesday the show's finale airs. The two-disc set is retailing on the site for $26.99. There's no news of what special features will be included in the set, if any.

The CW to Bring Carrie Bradshaw Back to the Small Screen?

Image
There has been talk recently about the possible return of Sex and the City to the small screen and now it looks like it might happen, but not to HBO and not with Sarah Jessica Parker. Instead Deadline is reporting that the CW are looking to develop Candace Bushnell's book The Carrie Diaries. The Carrie Diaries is set in the 1980s and is a prequel to Sex and the City. It shows what Carrie Bradshaw was like at school and follows her to Manhattan and her first internship. Samantha Jones is the only other character of the four women to make an appearance in the novel, but it wouldn't be surprising if some of the other recurring SATC players did make an appearance if this adaptation goes ahead.
