New Xbox 360 console design official

Image
The main focus of the Microsoft event will be the Xbox One, however that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to see anything related to the Xbox 360. In fact, Micrsoft kicked off the E3 2013 event with word of a new design for the 360 as well as an upgrade to the existing Gold setup. And nicely done, the updated Gold setup will bring free games starting in July. The newly updated 360 console was revealed by Yusuf Mehdi and it was said to have been inspired by the Xbox One design. Nothing all that surprising in that respect and it seems the bigger deal is likely in the games and the updates to Gold — which just ties back in with the games. The free games will be available beginning on July 1st and will include Halo 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3. Aside from these two games, those with an Xbox Live Gold membership will see two free games per month. Future free games have yet to be specified, however there was also talk of “hundreds of new games coming to 360.” And those hundreds of games wi

Ryse: Son of Rome revealed by Crytek at E3

We were teased with Crytek’s newest game last month, called Ryse, but today during Microsoft’s E3 presser, we’re seeing a first-look at the game, having a peek at some of the gameplay in a new trailer. Gamers will be able to experience the rise of the Roman Empire through the eyes of a Roman soldier, and as expected, the graphics look stunning. The game is extremely fast paced, and there’s certainly a lot going on from what we’re seeing. Also, there’s a lot of stabbing with swords and blood spewing everywhere. It’s definitely not the game for the weak-stomached, but if you like ancient warfare, this game will most likely appeal to your senses. However, there’s also many explosions, with ships blowing up and castles on fire. The game’s controls look fairly straightforward, with specifically-timed button presses that activate certain kill moves during combat. There’s a ton of stuff happening on the screen: tons of soldiers, lots of arrows flying around. This game

iOS 7 3rd party keyboards leaked early

Image
Right before Apple’s WWDC 2013 keynote begins today, one of what we must assume will be several system-wide onscreen keyboard replacement apps has leaked. This miniature bit of information lets us know that Apple will more than likely be allowing said keyboard (Fleksy) along with multiple other keyboard replacement apps to work inside iOS. This is a big change for Apple’s mobile operating system, one where such cross-app functionality hasn’t been a reality due to Apple’s hard and fast control over the user interface in the operating system. What we must assume is that this release is either an elaborate ruse or that it was released early on accident. If this system was released accidentally, it points toward Apple opening their doors to developers in a whole new way with iOS 7. The Apple mobile operating system update to iOS 7 will be detailed throughout the keynote starting at 10AM PST. “Fleksy will be one of the first keyboards to be used system-wide on iOS.” – Fleksy The ide

Komani shows off Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with open-world gameplay

We knew Konami would be making an appearance at E3 this year, and Microsoft’s press conference started off right away with a first-look trailer of the game developer’s latest game, which just so happens to be a new Metal Gear Solid. Konami announced Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Snake is back in this one, and it seems the game will take place in the middle east. One of the biggest changes to this new title is the addition of open-world gameplay. MGSV will feature a sandbox-like experience that will allow players to run around wherever and whenever they want, even on horseback (just like in Red Dead Redemption). In the game, we see Snake sneaking around in bushes, and slowly coming up on guards to disable them. There’s also plenty of crawling on the growd, and of course guns. Characters include Kazuhira Miller, who Snake saves. Snake is introduced in the trailer as “Punished Snake,” so we should be seeing something different from them in this new game. The open-world ga
