Aamir's 'item girl' for Delhi Belly to be revealed today?

Image
The team of Delhi Belly may have more than one reason to celebrate this evening. While the entire cast and prominent members of the crew along with select invitees would be getting together to cheer the success of their song ' Bhaag DK Bose ', there would be added incentive for those present at the invite. There are strong indications that the event would also see an announcement around the name of the actress who would be gyrating to a specially created item number for the Imran Khan starrer. "Three prominent names that have been making rounds so far are that of Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora and Deepika Padukone. On the other hand, cine goers have also thrown around names like Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Sharma amongst others. Whether the chosen one would be one of them or someone else would be known to one and all this evening", informs a well placed source connected to the film. The event would be held at Vie Lounge, Juhu, and is expec

Singham shoot stalled by FWICE

Image
The underproduction Ajay Devgn starrer Singham hit a road block while shooting the film on Monday. The apparent hiccup was when members of the Federation Of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) association stormed the sets of Singham , demanding unpaid wages from the producers. It is being said that the producers of the film, Reliance Entertainment, owed the workers over Rs. 45 lakhs. Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Big Pictures, admits that there was an issue over non payment of the workers wages. He however added that the conflict was between the workers and the art director and that it has been sorted now.

Arunoday Singh cast opposite Ash in Heroine

Image
It has been the topic of much discussion and rumours were rife about the casting for Madhur Bhandarkar's next, Heroine . However, after much speculation Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was cast as the lead actress in the film, but then there was yet another dilemma in the form of the lead actor. Though earlier reports had suggested that hubby dearest Abhishek Bachchan would be cast opposite Aishwarya, Apna Desi  has now learnt that Madhur has settled for the Yeh Saali Zindagi actor Arunoday Singh. Heroine is about the life of a successful Bollywood actress, with all the masala along with the typical Bollywood twist in the tale. As for Arunoday, he will play a cricketer in the film, who is going around with the top actress played by Aishwarya Rai

Randeep Hooda to play second lead in Informer

Image
Last minute casting change has somehow become a very common phenomenon in Bollywood these days. The latest has happened for Kunal Deshmukh's film Informer which stars Emraan Hashmi. The film, which was initially to feature Vivek Oberoi as the second lead actor, will now have Randeep Hooda instead. The film in the initial stages was said to have been offered to Sanjay Dutt but eventually went to Vivek. However, Vivek opted to do Krrish 3 and hence faced date issues for Informer . Eventually, the part went to Randeep, who gained critical acclaim recently for his performance in the film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai .

Dharmendra to judge India's Got Talent Season 3

Image
After Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha, Dharmendra will be the next from the 70s brigade to join the league of Bollywood imports on TV. The yesteryears' star will debut on the small screen as a judge on 'India's Got Talent (IGT) Season 3'. The show is expected to start after 'Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchaar' wraps up over the next two months. Currently auditions for the show are underway in various cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, and relatively smaller cities like Lucknow and Jaipur. Before Dharmendra, filmmakers Shekhar Kapoor and Sajid Khan were the judges on the show's first and second seasons with actors Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre Behl. The latter two will continue as judges on Season 3 as well.

Jon Stewart Gives Fake Weiner Press Conference; Gains Real Injury

Image
Technically, people getting injured is not funny (exceptions can be made if some obnoxious guy gets a football to the groin). Unless that person is Jon Stewart. Because even when he's injured, he still keeps the joke going. Last night on The Daily Show, Stewart gave a "press conference", where he essentially "apologized" for his recent coverage of Representative Anthony Weiner. Earlier this week, Stewart had been criticized for his handling of the recent Weiner-gate. Stewart and Weiner are actually old friends and Weiner has appeared on past segments of The Daily Show. Stewart was, of course, disappointed with his old friend as the truth came to light. So Stewart decided to set up a fake press conference to discuss his coverage of Weiner-gate. In hilarious fashion, Stewart explains why he didn't really cover Weiner's admission: "Too lazy to write jokes after 5pm" is the official explanation that appears on the bottom of the screen.

More Biting True Blood Season 4 Details

Image
As we approach the start of True Blood season 4 more details, pictures, promos and even a look at the first six minutes of the premiere have been released by HBO. So what do we know so far? All is not well in the vampire community as they attempt to get what little human support they did have back, by launching a major PR campaign to try and erase the memory of the Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) rampage. This is led by Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck) and the American Vampire League, Tuck has been bumped to season regular so we should expect to see a lot more of Flanagan this year. A vampire family portrait of sorts has been released (see photo right, first shown on TV Line ) showing our key vampires in all their fang glory and they all look pretty great. The issue of making humans accept vampires again isn't the only conflict that will be posing a problem to our fanged friends this year, and it is a more insidious and supernatural bunch that look to be causing the major issues.

The Voice: Vote Via iTunes for Your Favorite Artists

Image
A live show of The Voice will be airing tonight beginning at 9:00 p.m. Tonight also marks the first time that viewers will be able to vote for their favorite artists via iTunes. Here's how it works: go to iTunes each week after the live show ends and download the studio version of the song performed by your favorite artists (each song costs $1.29). Each download will count as a vote for that particular artist. Of course, NBC is still counting votes through the toll-free phone calls, the NBC Live app and through NBC.com. The Voice continues to use social media to connect the audience with the show. V-Correspondent Alison Haislip makes regular appearances during the live broadcasts to engage fans through Facebook, Twitter, NBC Live and NBC.com. Using the hastage #TheVoice or tweeting the official accounts of the show, the artists or the coaches may see their tweets appear in the bottom of the screen during the V-Room portions of the live shows. Castle Season 4 Spoilers: Is Captain Montgomery's Substitute A Woman?

Image
It has been a long couple of weeks without our favorite show, right, Castle fans? And just the thought that we still have three very long months ahead of us until the show returns for its fourth season is enough to make me depressed. Seriously. I liked it a whole lot better when I did a Castle marathon last summer when I discovered the show. I had to wait barely a month then until season 3 and that was torture. So to help us endure this ridiculously long hiatus, Ausiello has just released a very interesting piece of news. It looks like the new Captain will be a woman. Cool, right? I know we are all still sad about Captain Montgomery sacrificing himself in the season 3 finale in order to save Kate, but is it wrong that I am excited to find out more about this new character? Just imagine the possibilities and several new layers a female Captain can add to the precinct dynamics. And not only at the precinct because we are all well aware that whatever goes down at the precinct aff

Teen Wolf: Now THIS is What I'm Talking About! Bring On The Wolves!

Image
Okay, I think I've fallen head over heels in love with Teen Wolf. Last night's conclusion to the two-night premiere event delivered the goods and then some. All of the quibbles I had about the first episode were answered and the answers not only made sense, but they also a) enhanced the plot further and b) lead to even more questions that I don't care if they're answered in the next episode or later ones, because the show is that damn good. Everything just meshed and flowed last night, from the interaction between Scott and Stiles to the stand-off between Scott and Lydia in the classroom scene. If I missed the show's tone during the pilot episode, then I finally latched on to it last night and I can seriously say that MTV should have a bona fide cult hit on their hands. But before I get ahead of myself, let's discuss some of the key plot points from last night's episode, complete with musings for what could possibly happen next. Seeing Red... The

Game of Thrones Hits Ratings High

Image
Game of Thrones has already been renewed for a second season, but it's still good to know that the series is doing well in the ratings. Episode 8, which aired this past Sunday, scored 2.7 million viewers. That's a 22% increase since the series premiere. When the episode repeated later that night it picked up an additional 900,000 viewers, which gave Game of Thrones a total of 3.6 million viewers for the night. While some episodes have resulted in a tiny dip in the ratings, Game of Thrones has been a solid performer for HBO since its premiere. Considering the upcoming direction of the show - including the fierce battles that are sure to play out with the various houses having declared war on each other - I wouldn't be shocked if the ratings continue to rise. There are only two more episodes left for season 1 of Game of Thrones. The next new episode airs on June 12. Get The Latest Updates on Tv Series Follow us on twitter  @thetvseries

Doctor Who Series 7 Confirmed! But Just Which Actors Will Be Returning?

Image
The BBC has commissioned fourteen new episodes of the UK's brilliant sci-fi series Doctor Who. Showrunner Steven Moffat retweeted this news on Tuesday from the Doctor Who Magazine Twitter feed. The same Tweet also confirmed that current Doctor Matt Smith will be returning for his third series of the show as well, for yet another year of an absolutely brilliant performance. "[Matt will be returning] definitely," Moffat asserted. The fourteen episodes will likely consist of a Christmas special and thirteen episodes of the regular series. 2011's Christmas special is slated to begin filming next month, with production for series 7 commencing shortly after that. Still unknown is whether Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will be returning to their roles of Amy Pond and Rory Williams for series 7. It seems unlikely, as both have signed onto other projects. Two years has been the longest amount of time any companion has spent with the Doctor since the show started back up i

The Real Housewives of Orange County: It's All Over But The Fighting/Reunion

Image
After watching Sunday's Real Housewives of Orange County Season Six finale, I couldn't help but feel/notice several things: 1) This season wasn't as good as I thought it would be... 2) No matter if Tamra was wrong in bringing the cease and desist letter to the party (which I personally think doesn't mean a hill of beans in the end), Jeana had everything coming to her. More on that in a bit. 3) Finally, the "fight" that had been hinted at all season was such a lame bust that I'm shocked people went bananas over it on my Twitter feed. I was looking forward to the finale/fight more than I was the baby christening on Real Housewives of New Jersey, because at least the ladies would be arguing/fighting amongst themselves and not with family. So to see that the huge RHOOC fight, which sent Twitter and blogs on fire last year, was really just a couple of drinks being thrown at the wrong people kind of leaves me with a somewhat sour taste in my mouth. Howe

Tonight on White Collar: 3.01 "On Guard"

Image
Tonight the hit USA show White Collar returns for season 3 and it looks like there is a rift in the relationship between con man Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) and FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). Let's have a quick catch up of where season 2 ended to understand why Neal and Peter might not be such good partners at solving crime in this season 3 opener (for a full review of the season 2 finale head here). Neal had got to a point where he was distancing himself from the whole con man bit and becoming more on board to the life of crime solving. This was until the cliffhanger of the season that left Neal with the greatest score of a lifetime from the treasure filled Nazi submarine. This bounty had been made to look like it had been destroyed in a fire when it had actually been moved to a secure location before any of this destruction occurred. It had in fact been replaced with what looked to be Neal's own paintings that he had been doing in his spare time and Peter had seen earlier

Why The Daily Show's Handling of Weinergate Only Makes Me Respect Jon Stewart More

Image
It's barely been an hour since Monday night's (6/6) episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart aired, and already the episode is drawing fire from critics who think that Stewart was too soft on Representative Anthony Weiner, who confessed to guilt in a sexting scandal earlier on Monday. Stewart, who is old friends with the Congressman, had featured Weiner in various segments on his show, and has stated that the two even lived together for a time. Their friendship goes way back, before Weiner was a Congressman and before Stewart hosted what is now the most trusted news program in America (according to many polls). So when his friend's sexting scandal broke last week, Stewart was at first skeptical ("I remember there being a lot more Anthony and a lot less weiner," he said of the scandalous photo). He even used the headline "Distinguished Member of Congress" to set up the story. I'm sure you get the pun. But as Weiner's press interac

Basketball Wives: Is Twitter the Problem?

Image
It didn't hit me until the opening moments of Sunday's episode of Basketball Wives, but I think these ladies have something to blame for their constant beef. While past grudges, jealousy, and different allegiances are partially to blame for the chaotic environment that the show can become, one of the main culprits in stirring up trouble is Twitter. Just think about it. Last season at the reunion, Royce got into it with Evelyn and Jennifer over who exactly leaked the nude pictures of both ladies that have made their way onto the internet since the show began last year. The reason they got into it? Royce's Twitter feed. She had been hearing from people that both ladies purposefully leaked their own pictures to get their name and face (and other things) out there on the blogs and such. Last week, Tami found out through Twitter that Evelyn was making shirts with relating to the "non-mother f-ing factor" comment from last season. This week there wasn'

Switched at Birth Promo: Episode 1.02

Image
The new ABC Family show Switched at Birth premiered earlier tonight. After learning that their daughters had been mixed up shortly after birth in the hospital, the Kennish and Vasquez families were thrust into a pretty unusual situation. The two families could not be more different, with the wealthy Kennish family contrasted against the working class Vasquez family. And the two daughters - Bay and Daphne - are also different. Bay can be a sullen and rebellious teenager who is also artistic, while Daphne is athletic and has been dealing with being deaf since a toddler. At the end of the recent pilot episode, the Vasquez family moved into the Kennish guest house after suffering a large financial setback. With the families in such close quarters, will conflicts arise? In the next new episode of Switched at Birth, it looks like the parents are having a hard time dealing with the recent move. It looks like Kathryn and John want to become even more involved in Daphne's life, wh

Glee: Tiny Warbler Sings Along to "Teenage Dream"

Image
Are you ready to die from absolute cuteness? I'm not kidding. The video is so adorable it might actually give you cavities. A wee Glee fan has donned a tiny blazer and little dress pants, slicked up his hair and decided to perform along to Darren Criss and the other Warblers as they sing "Teenage Dream", which aired earlier this season on Glee. I'm afraid I don't know the name of this particular kid, but the real life Warblers are paying attention. Earlier, Darren Criss tweeted: “I have been replaced. Blaine Anderson, move over…Putting us Warblers to shame, you handsome devil!” The YouTube account, which was likely created by the parents of this kid, doesn't give out many details, it just says that the wee Warbler likes to sing and dance to all of the songs performed by the choir on Glee. Could there be more videos to come? I certainly hope so! Check out the performance below. It will put a smile on your face, I guarantee it. Get The Latest

Fringe: The Return of David Robert Jones?

Image
Sometimes Peter Bishop not existing isn't such a bad thing. Take, for instance, the story possibilities that could arise now that Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) never existed. Imagine the impossibilities, Fringe's tagline declares. While mulling over what could happen next in the story, my thoughts stumbled upon my favorite impossibility thus far: the return of David Robert Jones. Jared Harris's villainous David Robert Jones was perhaps the highlight of the first season; this was before the really meaty main cast parts started coming along in season two. No, Jones was the perfect bad guy for the first season of the show, back when we were just starting to understand the concept of alternate universes. Unfortunately, he found himself literally trapped between the two universes in the season one finale, and was chopped in half when a certain someone forced the universe portal to suddenly close. Have a guess as to who that someone is. However, now that Peter Bishop never

90210: Trevor Donovan (Teddy) Now a Recurring Guest Star in Season 4

Image
This is sad news. I thought that Teddy's coming out storyline in the third season of 90210 was a really strong point for his character. Unfortunately, TV Line has confirmed that Trevor Donovan will not be a regular cast member for season 4 of 90210. Donovan will return as a recurring guest star in season 4 and will appear in approximately five episodes. Overall, 90210 is going through a period of change. Showrunner Rebecca Sinclair has departed and two new showrunners - Patti Carr and Lara Olsen from Life Unexpected - have been hired to transition the show to its fourth season, which will see the 90210 kids going off to college. Its last two parental characters - Lori Loughlin and Ryan Eggold - are also departing. There's no telling whether there will be more cast changes for next season of 90210. In our recent recap of season 3, we mentioned that AnnaLynne McCord had said all of the cast members would not be returning and it looks like Trevor Donovan is among them.

Anna Torv and John Noble Discuss Fringe's Big Cliffhanger

Image
Fringe 's third season finale left us with quite the cliffhanger. September (Michael Ceveris) and December, two Observers, were commenting to each other on the fact that since Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) had fulfilled his purpose, "he never existed." While fans are still trying to piece together what exactly that meant, Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham) told Give Me My Remote that she thinks Peter still exists within the storyline of the show. "I think he's still in existence. I think that we just don't remember him," she shared. "[Peter could be] be walking around, knowing everything, but with nobody knowing. It'd be like being invisible, almost." "He'll be back in a different form," co-star John Noble, who plays Peter's father Walter, added. "But I don't know any more than that." Torv clarified that she'd not spoken to the showrunners since the third season wrapped. "I was just about to ask

True Blood: Watch The First Six Minutes Of The Season 4 Premiere

Image
HBO has just released a sneak peek of its hit show's upcoming season 4 premiere. And it is not a tiny peek either. That's right, True Blood fans, you have got six whole minutes of the episode you have all been waiting for. The first episode of the fourth season of the HBO's wildly successful vampire saga is scheduled to air on June 26th, which means you are getting this sneak peek three weeks in advance. According to the HBO official press release, the premiere will have quite a lot going on as Sookie leaves Bon Temps behind; Eric and Bill do their best tp try to win back the human public; Jason learns that no good deed goes unpunished; Tara finds refuge in close quarters; Sam bonds with his own kind; Hoyt and Jessica debate the dinner menu; Jesus urges Lafayette to join a coven; Terry tries to alleviate Arleneʼs fears about the baby. Let's not forget that this season the vampires and werewolves will have an addition to their supernatural team of characters. It look

Is Castle Getting Too Dark For A Dramedy TV Show?

Image
It has been a few weeks since the season 3 finale of the ABC’s hit show Castle aired and I believe we all had time to process everything that happened in “Knockout”. It is mostly a consensus that the episode was easily one of the best of the series so far – the very best, in my opinion – but it was a departure from Castle’s usual dramedy tone. That, honestly, is no surprise because the episodes that deal with Beckett’s mom’s murder are usually more dramatic and intense. However, after I posted a review of season 3 a week after the finale had aired, the comments area was immediately overflowing with people’s concerns about the show choosing a too dark path and that it would be hard to keep the consistency of the original premise if it suddenly became a full out drama. “Knockout” was obviously a very different episode and it was a lot more emotional than the previous ones. Captain Montgomery was revealed to be a traitor and ended up getting killed in an attempt to redeem himself and s

Switched at Birth: Details & Sneak Peeks of Tonight's Series Premiere

Image
A new series, Switched at Birth, premieres tonight on ABC Family. The one hour scripted drama focuses on two families who meet under very unusual circumstances because their daughters were mistakenly switched in the hospital after they were born. The Kennish Family: John and Kathryn are wealthy parents with a beautiful estate who send their children to private school. John’s a former professional athlete who now owns a chain of businesses, while Kathryn is a stay-at-home mom. The couple has two children: Bay and Toby. After Bay discovers that her blood type doesn’t match her parents, she asks them to get tested and they learn that she is not their biological daughter. The Vasquez Family: Regina is a working, single mother who is raising her daughter, Daphne, in a poor neighbourhood (Regina’s mother also lives with the girls). Daphne caught meningitis when she was three years old and, as a result, became deaf. Regina has worked hard her whole life to take care of Daphne and support

American Idol's Paul McDonald Engaged to Twilight's Nikki Reed

Image
We don't normally post engagement news, but this seems to be the big news of the day today. Paul McDonald competed in season 10 of the hit Fox show American Idol. Nikki Reed has starred as Rosalie Cullen in the Twilight movies and will be appearing in the next Twilight movie Breaking Dawn, which will be released November 8, 2011 (view the trailer here). People magazine is reporting that the couple are now officially engaged. Reed, 23, and McDonald, 26, met back in march at the premiere of Red Riding Hood. They've only been dating for a few months, but they appeared together at last night's MTV Movie Awards, where Reed was sporting an engagement ring. Back in May, Reed told People: "I've never met anyone like him. I've never met anyone who has such a good solid heart and comes from such a good solid family and is just a genuine person. We have the exact same sense of humor. I've never laughed so much with anyone as I do with him." Well, it'

2011 Critics' Choice Television Awards Nominations

Image
In its very first edition, The Critics' Choice Television Awards have already set themselves apart from the traditional Award shows. While the Emmys and Golden Globes usually leave out cult favorites, much to the outrage of fans around the world that want to see their favorite shows recognized, The CCTA nominated shows like Fringe, Community and Parks and Recreation, all usually ignored by the traditional awards. Modern Family leads the comedy category with six nominations whille Mad Men scored five noms. 30 Rock and Boardwalk Empire follow closely with four nods each. As a TV fan, I am just glad that Fringe - one of the best television shows today in my humble opinion - finally got its way overdue recognition. The cult show scored three nominations: Best Drama; John Noble received a nod for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Anna Torv, who was absolutely brilliant in season 3, got a nom for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Here is the complete list of nominees for t
