Khloe and Lamar Episode 7: Jamie 9-1-1

Image
In the latest installment of Khloe and Lamar, Malika realizes the hard way that her relationship with Rob Kardashian is merely a friends with benefits arrangement, while Lamar faces the fact that Khloe was right about Jamie. It's an episode full of painful realizations, forcing confrotations between everybody. When last we left the group, Khloe found Malika passed out in Rob’s bed. Khloe confronts Malika about the hook up, and is not shy about saying how gross she thinks it is. Malika acknowledges their hookup but wonders to herself where they go from there. Lamar gets a call from his pissed business manager who tells him Jamie didn’t show up for an important business meeting with an investor for Lamar’s merchandising company Rich Soil. It's all Khloe can do to say "told you so." Lamar confronts Jamie who says he merely postponed the meeting. The truth is, he didn’t make it back from Las Vegas in time, probably because he was partying too hard. Rob invites Malika

Double Dhamaal dig on SRK and Aamir - Tribute or a joke gone too far?

Image
Call it a planned dig, friendly prank, an innocent jibe or plain humour but Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are certainly finding themselves on the wrong side of the stick. "The makers of Double Dhamaal , in an attempt to double the humour quotient of the first in the series, have incorporated scenes in the film where Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jafferi and Ashish Chowdhry mimicry some of the leading actors of Bollywood. Shahrukh and Aamir are two such actors", informs an insider. Well, the inside news isn't resulting in any surprise element now, what with the theatrical promo all set to reveal these digs. While Riteish Deshmukh goes on to ape Aamir Khan, it is Javed Jafferi who does his own take on Shah Rukh Khan. This is not all as Arshad Warsi, in the getup of a Sardarji, actually brings on the mannerisms that are similar to Shatrughan Sinha. "Director Indra Kumar is known for his whacky humour, something that he has never left behind eve

"I would be happy to make just 10-12 more films" - Anees Bazmee

Image
Anees Bazmee has been facing some hectic times. In a span of just about six months, he has worked towards completing three films of his. First came No Problem in December last year, a month and a half back he released his Thank You and now he is giving final shape to Ready which is releasing next month. This is not all as he has also wrapped up another film of his, It's My Life (Harman Baweja, Genelia D'Souza). "I have now realised that working in two films at a time means spending your entire 24 hours of a day into their making", rues Bazmee who feels that now is the time for him to take things easy. One wonders though what really forced him to consent to working on multiple projects. After all, in a position that he was in after delivering blockbusters like Singh Is Kinng, Welcome and No Entry , he could well afford to say 'no' and be overtly selective about his work. "To be honest, I was in fact quite relaxed and wanted things to c

"Why are we looking at Indian cinema as Bollywood & regional?" - J.P. Dutta

Image
The almost-complete exclusion of Bollywood from the list of National Awards and the selection of Dabangg as "wholesome entertainer" has left many Bollywood denizens gasping for breath. One eminent filmmaker whose films used to sweep all the popular awards until recently opined, "Agreed a lot of really good films are being made in the regional languages. But I think the attempt to please every state makes the National Awards look like toffees in a kindergarten class." Jury head J.P. Dutta is unfazed by the criticism. "Why are we looking at Indian cinema as Bollywood and regional cinema? There's just one cinema in the country, Indian cinema. It's a shame that a lot of filmmakers in Mumbai equate Bollywood with Indian cinema. They need to open their eyes and look around." J.P. is enthralled by the films submitted this year. "I was amazed at how much quality-conscious cinema I got to see this year for the National Awards. The

Tonight on Family Guy: Sneak Peeks of the Season Finale "It's a Trap!"

Image
Back in December, Fox released a DVD of the third Family Guy Star Wars parody, called "It's a Trap!". Like the first pardy "Blue Harvest" and the second one, "Something, Something, Something Dark Side", "It's a Trap!" closely follows the plot of the third Star Wars movie "Return of the Jedi". For those who aren't familiar with the plot, Peter/Han Solo was frozen in carbonite at the end of "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" and brought to Jabba the Hut. When we open with "It's a Trap!", Lois/Princess Leia, heads to save him, along with the robots and Chris/Luke. Tonight on Game of Thrones: "A Golden Crown"

Image
You'll definitely want to tune in to tonight's all new episode of Game of Thrones on HBO. It's a terrific, clever episode that gives attention to each of the major plotlines and families in the show. Here's what you can expect in tonight's Game of Thrones: King Robert & Ned Stark: At the end of the last episode, Ned Stark had given up his position as the King's Hand and was set to leave King's Landing before learning that King Robert had yet another bastard child. After making this discovery, Jamie Lannister attacked him, demanding the captured Tyrion be returned. When tonight's episode begins, we learn that a wounded Ned has been brought back to the castle, and Robert tells him he wants him to resume his former position as King's Hand. Cersei immediately lays into him for having his wife capture Tyrion, and while Robert wants Ned to have Tyrion return, he and Cersei immediately disagree as to how much Ned should have to suffer for what&#

SNL hits 7 year high with Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga

Image
There’s always an air of anticipation when Justin Timberlake hosts an episode of Saturday Night Live as he did for the 36 th season finale last night. So when you throw Lady Gaga into the mix, things are bound to get exciting. And exciting they were as NBC’s landmark Saturday night broadcast brought in ratings that were up 21% from last year and the highest in 7 years according to Deadline . While many of the skits featuring Mr. JT were reiterations of those in his previous hosting gigs such as “Liquorville” and The Barry Gibbs talk show featuring Jimmy Fallon, some skits were brand spanking new and quite amusing. Most notably, the game show for ‘What’s That Name?’ celebrity edition in which Justin forgets the name of not only the girl he slept with last week but of former ‘NSync member Chris Kirkpatrick while Gaga remembers everyone’s name because you can’t forget someone who loves your music. As expected the saga of the “D*ck in the Box” fellas continued after becomi

From the Internet: Game of Thrones - Stupid Ned Stark

Image
If you're not watching Game of Thrones, you should be. The HBO show is probably the best fantasy epic since the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The show has a huge variety of main characters, including Ned Stark, played by Sean Bean (who just happened to star in the first LOTR film). Stark is one of the few characters on the show driven by honor as opposed to selfishness. While admirable, some times that makes his strategy in the titular game a little behind the schemes of his opponents. BuzzFeed has posted a list of ten stupid things Ned Stark has done, arranged in lolcat meme style. It's not something that I think will catch on, or even something that can be done beyond this list of ten that's been provided. It's a fun little page, though, and it might elicit the same chuckles from you that it did from me. There are some spoilers for people who haven't read the first book on which the show is based. It's pretty funny stuff, though, and though the spoilers might

DVD Review - Circles of Deceit

Image
I was afraid Circles of Deceit would be terribly cliche. After all, most undercover cop shows are the same cat-and-mouse suspense dramas designed to elicit cheap thrills from situations where the protagonist is repeatedly almost caught. It's fun enough to watch, but it gets old fast. As it turns out, that isn't Circles at all. The early nineties drama is actually fairly original. It deals with situations not covered often in television (i.e. in one episode, the protagonist infiltrates the I.R.A.), and the show deftly sidesteps cliches. Of course, one cliche that simply can't be escaped is the brooding, grieving protagonist John Neil (Dennis Waterman), who lost his family in a bombing at a circus. The show borders on macabre at times, such as during the depiction of the aforementioned circus bombing. Crying clowns and flaming circus tents certainly aren't comforting images, and the clips are edited together to feel like it could be the beginning of some horrible Nigh
